There were so much more to feel, especially the stories of people living in those places once. This video covers the Jamaican Yellow Yam, Health Benefits and recipes. Yellow yam comes from a starchy vegetables, which stretches up to 2 meters long. Yellow yams are similar to sweet potatoes; however, while Yams and sweet potatoes are often used interchangeably in grocery stores, they are two different starchy vegetables that supplies different nutrients. The sweet potato is related to the morning glory family. Sweet potatoes have orange flesh but can also be white, yellow or purple and should not be confused with yams.  Yams are closely related to the Lily and grass family, and vary in colour from ivory, white, yellow and purple. Yams are mostly long and cylindrical with a rough and sometimes scaly texture. There is a distinct difference between the two tubers. Yams are larger in size and have a thicker skin. Located in the Bog Walk Gorge in St. Catherine, it sits low above the Rio Cobre River, which often floods during heavy rains, making the bridge impassable and extremely hazardous. The rushing waters can cover the entire structure, sweeping vehicles off the road, and there have been several reported accidents and fatalities over the years. With no sidewalk or proper safety barriers, drivers must navigate the bridge cautiously, often waiting their turn as only one direction of traffic can pass at a time. Despite its historical significance, Flat Bridge remains a notorious and risky crossing for both locals and tourists.
