The steps behind preparing a good steak are more or less consistent in the culinary world. Season with salt & black pepper, cook in a cast iron skillet with garlic cloves, butter and thyme or rosemary. This Stew Beef Steak recipe take a slightly different approach to seasoning and serving the steaks. The aim is to give them the flavor profile of a delicious Trini stew beef but using “traditional” methods. For this kitchen experiment I did the regular salt & black pepper seasoning for one steak. Then I created a stew sauce to serve it with to mimic the stew beef experience. The other method was to prepare a stew beef spice rub then cook the steak as you would normally. I found that the stew beef spice rub on the steak resulted in a way more flavorful beef. While the stew sauce provided a delicious gravy. In this written recipe I am combining the two methods and giving you the best of both worlds in this Stew Beef Steak recipe.
