24 Hour Pakistani Street Food Tour | Epic Food Journeys with Mark Wiens | National Geographic
Lahore is the undisputed food capital of Pakistan and Mark Wiens is ready to spend 24-hours taking it all in. Lahoris don't just love food, they're obsessed with it. From the chaos of Old Lahore to street grills and mango stalls packed with locals looking for a delicious respite from the heat, Mark encounters a city where food is fiery, portions are big, and passions run deep. Beginning his Pakistani food journey at 4:30 AM, Mark travels to Haneef Siri Paye, a Lahore breakfast institution, known for paye, a dish consisting of braised goat feet served with freshly baked bread. From there, Mark meets with Adil Lahorei, a passionate food lover and tour guide, to discover Old Lahore. They consume the famous Lahore street food snacks like Laohrei fruit chaat, which is made of bananas, apples, and apriciot sauce seasoned with masala, and dahi bhally, lentil fritters, potatoes, and yogurt seasoned with masala and chili. Traveling on a colorful truck, Mark heads to the next spot, a famous pitstop designed restaurant at the Haji Usman Khan Hotel. There, he eats mutton rosh, slow cooked mutton, dal maash, yellow lentils stewed with black pepper and green chili, and Kabuli pulao -- fluffy rice, cooked with sweet carrots and bone marrow. Continuing the trek through Lahore, Mark goes to Butt Karahi, a restaurant best known for the dish incorporated in its name, karahi (a rounded cooking pan) of fresh rooster simmered in with cream, butter, a variety of spices, and lots of green chilies and ginger. Dairy is a huge part of the Punjab culture and Fazal Milk and Lassi Shop is famous for their Pairoo Wali Lassi, a massive cup of yogurt and cream, hand blended with milk fudge and topped with delicious butter balls. With the day winding down, Mark tries takatak, one of the great Pakistani street foods that is named for the rhythmic clanking of the iron spatulas on the iron griddle. Then, at the Al Riaz Cafe, Mark chooses his won goat organs and passes them to the chef so they can mask everything up and season with spices and green chiles. Looking for a cooling snack to survive a hot evening in Lahore, Mark goes to Heera Thandhe Amm to enjoy the prized chaunsa mangos cooled in an ice bath. For late night Pakistani street food in Lahore, there are few things better than Ilyas Dumba Karahi (Truckaa Wala Adda). Mark meets up with longtime friend and food lover Ali Naqi Hamdani, to eat mutton karahi -- big chunks of fresh mutton cooked in a karahi over open fires with green chilies and black pepper. Throughout the course of 24-hours, Mark Wiens has seen that Lahore is a city where you can eat like a king! World's Deadliest Gang War | El Salvador: MS-13 vs Barrio 18 | Free Documentary Inside the Sinaloa Cartel: https://youtu.be/bjEq3GB7zvg With its beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and sandy beaches lined with restaurants, El Salvador has all the assets of a dream tourist destination. Yet foreign visitors are rare. The reason: this tiny state in Central America is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Every year, between 3,000 and 6,000 people are murdered, with a population of only 6 million. Welcome to the world of the Salvadoran mareros, a ruthless universe where death punctuates daily life and where people murder for a fistful of dollars. Since the 1990s, the country has been torn apart by a violent gang war. Members of MS-13 and Barrio 18 fight a bloody war for control of the neighborhoods. Julio, one of the leaders of Barrio 18, opens up before the camera and lets us film the violent induction ceremony for a new member. We also meet Zorro, a hitman who committed some of the worst atrocities. For this documentary, the Salvadoran government also authorized us to enter the high-security prison of San Francisco Gotera. Inside, 1,700 gang members are held in deplorable conditions. From morning to night, the prisoners are subjected to evangelical religious conditioning and the sworn enemies of rival gangs must learn to cohabit in the same cells. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI Free Documentary Merch: https://bit.ly/3zpk3mj ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #gangwar ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Beary Tales | Two Orphaned Bear Cubs
Beary Tales - Two orphaned bear cubs would've been destined to starve - if a man had not adopted them. The film shows the twins' life with their new "mother", from their first steps to becoming cheeky teenagers. Beary Tales (2013) Director: Hira Klatt, Marcella Müller, Angelika Sigl Writers: Angelika Sigl Stars: Volker Arzt Genre: Documentary Country: United States Language: English Release Date: 2013 (United States) Filming Location: Bohemian Forest, Czech Republic Synopsis: Bears are something exceptional these days. There are only a few regions in Europe, like the Carpathian Mountains or the High Tatras, where they can still be found in the wild. Vaclav Chaloupek is a well-known wildlife photographer and filmmaker. He lives in the Bohemian Forest, where he is always accompanied by one wild animal friend or another. When his friend, the forest ranger, shows up with bear orphans, one thing is clear right from the start: Vaclav will become their new mother, take care of them and provide the bear twins with future prospects. Very soon Vaclav is an experienced bear mum. Bottle feeding, cleaning up their mess - the usual things. And in between he has to put up with their constant demand for more food. But the bear babies are developing splendidly. The twins are growing fast, they are perfectly healthy and learn quickly how to walk. After two months they leave Vaclav’s house, their cave, for the first time and conquer the Bohemian Forest. On their daily excursions with Vaclav they meet other animals in the forest. These encounters are always exciting and surprising to the bear mum and often result in bizarre situations and Vaclav is learning about these great creatures. It never gets boring because there is always something new to discover in nature, there are challenges to be met and adventures to be had. One worry remains though: where will the twins live in future? Soon it becomes apparent that a life in freedom would be too dangerous. The two bears are imprinted on humans and have lost their mistrust and fear of human beings. But Vaclav finds a solution... In emotionally engaging images the film shows the adolescence of the bear twins, it documents their first steps and follows their development from defenseless bear babies to cheeky, 60-kilo bear teenagers.
