Civil Engineer Wins Biathlon Gold - Halvard Hanevold | Nagano 1998 Winter Olympics
📲 Subscribe to @olympics: http://oly.ch/Subscribe The Biathlon is an event that requires immense skill, composure and stamina, all of which are showcased by Halvard Hanevold in these highlights on his way to Olympic gold at the Nagano 1998 Winter Olympics. Practising biathlon requires very diverse qualities: excellent physical capacities of endurance, along with intense concentration and extreme precision when getting into position for the shooting section. Indeed, it is not easy to keep cool to aim at a target when your heart is beating fast. These are qualities which Halvard Hanevold developed throughout his long career. This civil engineer qualified in building machinery and tools was able to apply a scientific and methodical approach to his sports performance. This is certainly what enabled him to remain, for more than 15 years, an essential, yet discreet, figure in the world of biathlon. His first steps into the world of Olympism were taken at home in Norway in 1994, at the Lillehammer Games. He very quickly became a pillar of the relay team, in which he amassed many rewards (he was a four-time world champion). He was always the first athlete in the relay. A fine tactician and good shooter, he launched his team onto the road to success. In 1998, he became Olympic champion for the first time, winning the 20km. A few days later, with the Norwegian relay team, he was beaten by five seconds and won silver. Tesla’s first-quarter vehicle deliveries were far below even JPMorgan Chase & Co. analyst Ryan Brinkman’s pessimistic estimate, “confirming the unprecedented brand damage we had earlier feared,” he said in a report Friday. • Nvidia (NVDA) declined as much as 7.5% to test a support zone between $91 and $96 dating back to the May 22 high and the August 5 low, respectively. On March 20, Nvidia’s 50-day moving average fell below its 200-day moving average, forming the stock’s first bearish death cross pattern in two years. • Wayfair (W) shares slid 11% in premarket trading, putting the stock on track to extend declines after Citi downgraded the online furniture retailer to neutral from buy. Analyst Ygal Arounian said President Donald Trump’s tariff announcement “created significant exposure” to the supplier base of Wayfair, and sees eBay as better positioned. -------- Watch Bloomberg Radio LIVE on YouTube Weekdays 7am-6pm ET WATCH HERE: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/BloombergRadio Subscribe to our Podcasts: Bloomberg Daybreak: http://bit.ly/3DWYoAN Bloomberg Surveillance: http://bit.ly/3OPtReI Bloomberg Intelligence: http://bit.ly/3YrBfOi Balance of Power: http://bit.ly/3OO8eLC Bloomberg Businessweek: http://bit.ly/3IPl60i Listen on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Bloomberg Business app: Apple CarPlay: https://apple.co/486mghI Android Auto: https://bit.ly/49benZy Visit our YouTube channels: Bloomberg Podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/bloombergpodcasts Bloomberg Television: https://www.youtube.com/@markets Bloomberg Originals: https://www.youtube.com/bloomberg Quicktake: https://www.youtube.com/@BloombergQuicktake

George Hodgson Wins 2 Olympic Golds In 3 Year Career - Stockholm 1912 Olympics
📲 Subscribe to @olympics: http://oly.ch/Subscribe George Hodgson completes an amazing achievement by winning gold in the men's 400m and 1500m freestyle swimming events after only being a professional swimmer for 3 years, relive his victory in these highlights from the Stockholm 1912 Olympic Games. Canadian swimmer George Hodgson was an unusual Olympic champion. At only 18 years-old when he competed at the Stockholm 1912 Olympic Games, Hodgson had only been swimming competitively for three years. He was also the lone Canadian swimmer at the Games, which didn't stop him from taking his country to the top of the podium twice. Hodgson won two Olympic gold medals after he broke the world records twice for both the 400m and 1500m freestyle events at the Stockholm Olympics. After such an impressive sequence of results, George Hodgson retired from swimming competitions, ending his short but powerful sporting history. George Hodgson might have competed for less than a full Olympiad, but he definitely made his mark in Olympic history.
