Discover the complete biblical story of Sarah, one of the most important women in the Book of Genesis and the woman who received a promise that seemed impossible: becoming the mother of a son when her years of childbearing had already passed. Sarah's story begins long before the birth of Isaac. Originally known as Sarai, she was the wife of Abraham and accompanied him when God called him to leave his homeland and journey toward an unknown land. Together, they entered a life marked by uncertainty, dangerous journeys, difficult decisions, and an extraordinary promise that would shape the history of Israel. But there was a problem. Sarah could not have children. Although God had promised Abraham that his descendants would become a great nation, the years continued to pass without the birth of the promised son. As Abraham and Sarah grew older, the possibility of having a child seemed increasingly impossible. Their journey was not without mistakes. During a famine, they traveled to Egypt, where Abraham's fear placed Sarah in a dangerous situation involving Pharaoh. Years later, a similar episode occurred with Abimelech, king of Gerar, revealing the difficulties and vulnerabilities that accompanied their lives. But Sarah's greatest struggle was connected to the promise itself. After years of waiting, she gave her Egyptian servant Hagar to Abraham in the hope of obtaining a family through her. Hagar became pregnant with Ishmael, but the decision created painful conflict within the household. What seemed like a solution brought jealousy, suffering, and division. Still, God's promise remained. When Abraham received confirmation that Sarah herself would bear a son, the announcement seemed almost unbelievable. Off the western tip of Cuba, more than 2,000 feet beneath the Caribbean Sea, a sonar survey in the year 2000 revealed something that seemed impossible. Straight lines. Right angles. Long walls. Geometric formations. And what appeared to be a massive pyramid rising from the seafloor. The discovery was made by a Canadian exploration team searching Cuban waters for Spanish shipwrecks and lost treasure. Instead, their sonar appeared to reveal something far stranger: a large field of structures arranged across the ocean floor like the remains of an ancient settlement. The team returned with a remotely operated vehicle. Deep beneath the surface, their cameras captured pale stone blocks and unusual formations that some observers believed looked artificial. Then Cuban geologist Manuel Iturralde-Vinent was brought in to examine the evidence. He did not claim that a lost civilization had been found. He did not confirm Atlantis. But he reportedly found the formations extremely difficult to explain and called for further investigation. More than 25 years later, the mystery remains unresolved. If the structures are natural, they may represent an extraordinary example of how geology and sonar can create remarkably convincing geometric patterns. If they were built by humans, however, the implications would be enormous. At roughly 600–750 meters beneath today's sea surface, the site would be far too deep to be explained simply by post-Ice Age sea-level rise. So what is really beneath the waters of western Cuba?
