According to people familiar with the deliberations, Apple had early-stage talks with Intel about enlisting the company's chipmaking services. Apple executives also made visits to a Samsung plant under development in Texas. The move would offer a secondary option beyond longtime partner TSMC. Bloomberg's Neil Campling explains. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? TIL: Female Lions Are Attracted to Black Manes | Today I Learned
It turns out the search for a tall, dark, and handsome mate isn’t limited to dating websites—or even to humans. A lion’s mane will change color in accordance with its nutrition level and overall well-being; a male lion with a darker mane tends to be healthier and have higher testosterone levels. As a result, lionesses find lions with darker manes more attractive, according to biologist and National Geographic grantee Craig Packer. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe ➡ Watch All Today I Learned Clips here: http://bit.ly/2WatchTodayILearned ➡ Get More TIL (Today I Learned): http://bit.ly/MoreTIL About TIL (Today I Learned): Love crazy facts? In one study, a graduate student working with Packer used stuffed toy lions with various mane colors to test female preference. That study found that 90 percent of the time lionesses chose to approach the replicas with darker manes. Nature is so typical—boring, good-looking dudes ruining it for the rest of us. Maybe the remaining 10 percent of lionesses are more interested in a potential mate’s personality qualities? In this week’s "Today I Learned," Packer explains a bit more about this phenomenon. Monarch Butterflies Get Tiny Radio Trackers | Expedition Raw
While monarch butterflies may be relatively small in size, they make one of the most epic journeys known to animal-kind. During the spring, the first generation of butterflies leaves its winter home in Mexico or California to head north. Each successive generation flies even farther north, ending with the fourth generation finally making it to its summer destination in the northern United States or Canada. When the time comes to head south again for the winter, the fourth generation makes the entire journey back by itself, returning to almost exactly the same spot from which the first generation took off, even though the fourth generation has never been to that location before and there are no earlier surviving generations around to show the way. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe ➡ Watch all clips of Expedition Raw here: http://bit.ly/WatchmoreExpeditionRaw ➡ Get More Expedition Raw on Youtube: http://bit.ly/NGExpeditionRaw About Expedition Raw: Surprises, challenges, and amazing behind-the-scenes moments captured by National Geographic explorers in the field.
