The Invisible River | Europe’s Hidden Water World
The Invisible River - Under Water between the Black Forest and the Vosges - The biggest groundwater reservoir in Europe forms a vast underground river. It gives rise to wetlands of matchless beauty, home to rare animals and plants. The Invisible River - Under Water between the Black Forest and the Vosges (2019) Director: Serge Dumont Writers: Serge Dumont, Frank Nischk Narrator: Paul Bendelow Genre: Documentary Language: English Synopsis: Between the Black Forest and the Vosges it’s not only the Rhine that flows slowly northwards but also another waterway, hidden from view. The largest groundwater reservoir in Europe forms an underground river in the Upper Rhine Valley, which gives rise to wetlands of unique beauty – home to rare animals and plants. Underwater cameraman Serge Dumont, whose work has won numerous awards, has captured this unknown world in breathtaking sequences. He gets closer to the inhabitants of this biotope than any other documentary maker before him. Pike and great crested grebe pursue their prey right in front of his lens. This wildlife filmmaker, who is a professor of biology at Strasbourg University, has managed to record behaviour patterns of fish and birds never seen before. The film also reveals the fascinating world of insects, amphibians and microorganisms in these biotopes. For the first time, Serge Dumont was able to film dragonflies laying their eggs in plant stems up to two metres below the surface of the water. It’s their way of ensuring that the eggs don’t dry out when the water level drops. The film transports us into an alien world filled with bizarre creatures we would never suspect lived right on our doorstep. The wetlands in the Upper Rhine Valley owe their existence to the constant flow of clean, unpolluted groundwater. This is increasingly affected, though, by the excessive use of fertilisers and pesticides in agriculture, which poses a real threat to the small paradise habitats. “The Invisible River” shows uniquely the great biodiversity dependent on pure groundwater – and just how important it is to protect it. ···················································································· SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/3pYmbNb MORE MOVIES! ► Ocean Life: https://bit.ly/425KqWy ► Nature & Animals: https://bit.ly/4223SDL ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/3MvVwyi #animals #wildlife #oceans ···················································································· COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. Living in Antarctica | How People Live in the Most Mysterious Place on Earth | 4K From endless fields of ice and frozen coastlines to isolated research stations and small, resilient communities, this cinematic journey reveals how people truly live in Antarctica, far beyond what the world usually sees. Move through remote outposts where daily life unfolds in extreme conditions, and into small groups where routines are shaped by cold, isolation, and survival. From people fishing through thick ice to moments of cooking, repairing, and gathering together in the harshest environment on Earth, life here exists between simplicity and quiet intensity. These are not staged moments — they are lives imagined through the lens of survival and human resilience, shaped by rhythm, isolation, and a deep connection to ice, ocean, and the unforgiving landscape. A tribute to life at the edge of the world, hidden places, and the people who endure Antarctica. #antarctica #livinginantarctica #reallife #hiddenworlds #cinematictravel #dailylife #antarctica4k ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS: 00:00 Introduction 01:44 Life in Research Stations 05:47 Purpose & Scientific Work 09:48 Work & Daily Routine 12:33 Food & Survival Living 16:10 Nature & Wildlife 19:29 Transport & Isolation 22:23 Psychology & Community 25:26 Light, Darkness & Challenges 28:02 Why People Stay 29:11 Conclusion ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Subscribe now to stay tuned for more travel videos and fascinating wonders from around the world! Deadly Waters: When Lions Hunt in the Wrong Territory | Wildlife Documentary
Deadly Waters: When Lions Hunt in the Wrong Territory | Wildlife Documentary : https://youtu.be/JKDo6TfqmkI In Africa, not every hunting ground belongs to the lion. At the water’s edge, power shifts fast, and even one of the savannah’s most feared predators can lose control. In this wildlife documentary, we enter the deadly waters where lions hunt in the wrong territory — a place ruled by ambush, unstable ground, and danger hidden beneath the surface. Rivers, muddy banks, and shallow crossings may attract prey, but they also create one of the most dangerous survival zones in the wild. Here, lions are forced to move through a landscape where their strength and authority no longer guarantee success. In these deadly waters, crocodiles control the ambush, hippos dominate the space, and every step near the bank can turn a hunt into a trap. This episode of Claw Wildlife explores what happens when lions chase prey too close to the water, enter ground that favors another predator, or lose the advantage in an environment built for sudden reversals. More than a story of lions and water, it is a study of survival in hostile territory — where instinct, timing, and one wrong move can change everything. Watch more on Claw Wildlife for cinematic wildlife documentaries about predator vs prey, dangerous mistakes, shifting advantage, ambush zones, and the hidden rules of survival in the natural world. ►Content Notice: This documentary is created for educational and entertainment purposes. The Most Dangerous River on Earth | Indonesia: Surviving the Citarum | Free Documentary (2018) The World’s Most Contaminated City - Johannesburg: https://youtu.be/EYtFYOgeGVU The Citarum river in Indonesia is the world’s most polluted river. A reporter teamed up with international scientists to investigate the causes and consequences. One of the main polluters is the fashion industry: 500 textile factories pump their wastewater directly into the Citarum river. Thanks to the help of concerned citizens, the Green Warriors team analyzed water samples, rice and children’s hair and found toxic chemicals are endangering the lives of 14 million Indonesians. These findings caused the Indonesian government to change its wastewater regulations. The president also recently announced a new plan to clean up the Citarum. The fashion brands questioned in this documentary promised to better oversight of their Indonesian suppliers. #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #indonesia ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is passionate about sharing the beauty and diversity of our world through high-quality documentaries available for free on YouTube.
