Meat that's a little “past its prime” has lots of fans... In fact, there's a strange group of animals known as scavengers, carrion-feeders or necrophages, whose purpose is to eliminate the corpses that invade the earth, the rivers and the sea every day. Their work is crucial to keeping ecosystems in good order, keeping infections and infestations under control. The scavenger's work may seem disgusting, but we truly owe them a debt of gratitude for their strange appetite for the dead and their questionable culinary preferences.
