This 475-kilometre long route at the northernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent connects the cities of Manali and Leh at the heart of the Ladakh region. The term “highway” applies quite literally, since the route traverses five of the highest drivable mountain passes in the world – among these the Lohtang La at 3,978 metres above sea level, the Lachulung La at 5,059 metres and the Tanglang La at 5,325 metres. Crossing these passes is a challenge for both vehicle and man. Nowhere do people drive as brutally and recklessly as here. In Bangladesh you drive on the road like others drive with a bumper car: if you need space, you simply ram the car driving next to you. The BBC World Service has pieced together the stories of Layan al-Majdalawi, two, and Mira Tanboura, six, both killed in Gaza in separate incidents in November 2023, in areas where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was operating. The BBC has compiled material on over 160 cases where children have been shot in Gaza, and found that in 95 cases the child was shot in the head or chest. In most of these cases the victim was under 12 years old. The cases we found run from the first weeks of the war up to July this year. Story of this video is quite interesting! Because the footage was stolen from us and some dude from Indonesia made this exact short (with poorer quality) out of it - he made millions of views with it and Youtube didn't notice. So we thought we would copy his video and see what happens ;) But the interesting thing about this footage: Our cameraman got really lucky filming this shot! This is a young and unexperienced golden eagle and fails his initial attack on the chamois. Once he gets its claws into the chamois, he can't get it out. And thats why he rides the chamois as long as he does.
