This documentary tells the complete biblical story of Amalek and the Amalekites, tracing the conflict from its family origins to its final recorded echoes. The story begins with Amalek, the grandson of Esau, then follows his descendants as they attack Israel’s exhausted rear at Rephidim and become the subject of a war declared “from generation to generation.” Across the biblical narrative, the Amalekites defeat a disobedient Israel near Hormah, join invading coalitions during the period of the judges, and repeatedly threaten Israel from the southern wilderness. Their history reaches a decisive turning point when God commands King Saul to destroy Amalek. Saul’s incomplete obedience, including sparing King Agag and valuable livestock, costs him his kingdom. The question inside the American national security apparatus was not whether they could catch it. It was whether they were legally allowed to touch it.
