President Donald Trump says tariffs on Chinese goods could rise to 155% on November 1 if no trade deal is reached. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says the agency will revisit the labeling system for OxyContin and similar drugs, saying the original approval for chronic pain was “based on a 14-day study” and tainted by “regulatory capture.” He plans to ensure that a new system is consistent with the science. US to Get More Access to Australian Rare Earths, Critical Minerals
US President Donald Trump signed an agreement with visiting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to boost American access to critical minerals and rare earths as the US looks to reduce reliance on Chinese supply chains. “We are discussing critical minerals and rare earths and we’re going to be signing an agreement that’s been negotiated over a period of four or five months,” Trump said at the White House on Monday as the two leaders met. “In about a year from now, we’ll have so much critical mineral and rare earths that you won’t know what to do with them."
