The world’s supply of food becomes more and more imbalanced. One billion people are starving and every second a child dies of hunger and its consequences. At the same time, the world’s food production is at its peak level, and the demand for meat is growing not only in the industrial world. How can it be that up to 30% of the world’s harvest is ruined by plant diseases and pests, and less than half our harvest ends up on our plate? Karl Marx was many things: philosopher, journalist, economist and historian. In many ways, he was a modern renaissance man. His revolutionary ideas, though, are his legacy. After the collapse of many socialist regimes, Marx seemingly became less popular.
