Megastructures - The World’s Greatest Concert Hall | Engineering Documentary Megastructures - The World’s Most Extreme Railway: https://youtu.be/uTSpdD6MswA The city of Hamburg has an ambitious dream. They want an iconic landmark to rival the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building and Sydney Opera House. Their goal is to build the world’s greatest concert hall. But designing the acoustics of a concert hall is one of the toughest challenges in engineering and the architects won’t know if they’ve succeeded until the first concert is performed. They’re determined that the building will be a masterpiece, and insist on a no compromise approach. Their stunning design calls for curved glass windows in the façade and an extraordinary interior surface made from milled gypsum. But the building is now estimated to cost the city 789 million euros, and people are beginning to doubt it will ever be completed. This is the story of the attempt to build the greatest concert hall in the world. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Join the club and become a Free Documentary Patron: https://www.patreon.com/freedocumentary Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #Megastructures ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. Maine Democrats Rally Behind Troy Jackson
Midcoast Villager Deputy Editor Alex Seitz-Wald says Maine Democrats quickly coalesce behind Troy Jackson after Graham Platner's withdrawal, allowing the party to move past a chaotic primary and shift its focus to challenging Sen. Susan Collins. He says Jackson now faces the task of introducing himself to voters and donors while Republicans seek to tie him to Platner's scandals in one of the nation's most closely watched Senate races. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? How to Protect a Species in the Midst of a Warzone
Home to around one-third of the world’s endangered mountain gorilla population, Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo is hugely important to global conservation. ↠Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/TerraMaterOfficial?sub_confirmation=1 Many times Virunga has been making headlines for the wrong reasons. It has for years been the site of repeated attacks from rebels and militia groups, along with poachers and loggers, leading to the killing of hundreds of rangers, including 12 last April in the deadliest such attack in recent memory. On Sunday, January 10, 2021, at least six more rangers have been ambushed and killed. And it’s not just Virunga: armed conflict affects many of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and can have devastating consequences for wildlife. We take an in-depth look at how conservation is affected by war – and how in turn it can help promote peace. #terramatters #Virunga Subscribe and hit the alert button now to be the first to watch our latest uploads!
