All Airspace Around El Paso Airport Is Closed for ‘Special Security Reasons’
The US Federal Aviation Administration closed the airspace around the border city of El Paso, Texas, for 10 days, in an unusual move that authorities put down to unspecified “special security reasons.” All flights into and out of the city are suspended, the FAA said without elaborating on the reasons. The FAA has also prohibited all flight operations in the Santa Teresa area of New Mexico, citing special security reasons.  Flights from El Paso International Airport were halted starting Feb. 10 at 11:30 p.m. local time and will stay suspended until the same time on Feb. 20, the airport operator said in a travel advisory posted on its official Facebook and Instagram accounts. Bloomberg's Sid Philip joins Tom Keene and Paul Sweeney to discuss. -------- Watch Bloomberg Radio LIVE on YouTube Weekdays 7am-6pm ET WATCH HERE: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/BloombergRadio Subscribe to our Podcasts: Bloomberg Daybreak: http://bit.ly/3DWYoAN Bloomberg Surveillance: http://bit.ly/3OPtReI Bloomberg Intelligence: http://bit.ly/3YrBfOi Balance of Power: http://bit.ly/3OO8eLC Bloomberg Businessweek: http://bit.ly/3IPl60i Listen on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Bloomberg Business app: Apple CarPlay: https://apple.co/486mghI Android Auto: https://bit.ly/49benZy Visit our YouTube channels: Bloomberg Podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/bloombergpodcasts Bloomberg Television: https://www.youtube.com/@markets Bloomberg Originals: https://www.youtube.com/bloomberg Quicktake: https://www.youtube.com/@BloombergQuicktake

World's Biggest Nickel Mine in Indonesia Told to Slash Output | The Pulse 2/11/2026
The world's biggest nickel mine in Indonesia has been told to drastically cut output, as the country seeks to boost global prices of its biggest export commodity. Bloomberg understands that PT Weda Bay Nickel has been notified it will receive 12 million tons of ore production quota this year, down from 42 million tons in 2025. The company says it intends to apply for a revision. Nickel climbed last month after Indonesia flagged plans to cut mine output. The two athletes will attempt to summit via Everest's seldom visited West Ridge, and their alpine-style climb will be documented by Richards for a print feature in National Geographic magazine early next year. In addition to the team of Anker and Richards, a second team composed of The North Face athletes, Montana State University geologist David Lageson, and National Geographic writer Mark Jenkins will attempt to summit from the more common Southeast Ridge route. The expedition is sponsored by National Geographic and The North Face, with support from Montana State University, which has created online science curriculum about the Himalayas for fifth graders. Joining the climbers at Base Camp will be a team of five Mayo Clinic researchers who will study the impacts of high altitude on human physiology.
