They Left This Church... And Never Came Back! Why?
#jamaica #jamaicanhistory #hidden Tucked away in the hills of Llandewey, St. Thomas, Jamaica, stands a forgotten church known as the Abby — a piece of history that most people have never heard of, let alone seen. In this video, we explore Judgement Cliff, one of Jamaica's most fascinating natural landmarks, before making our way through the St. Thomas countryside to the Abby, an abandoned church standing quietly on its own. Along the drive, we talk about National Hero George William Gordon and Paul Bogle, and the role this region played in their journey through Jamaican history. Whether you're passionate about Caribbean history, abandoned places, Jamaican heritage, or off-the-beaten-path travel, this is a story about the places history left behind — and the questions they still raise today. Jamaica is full of locations like this: overlooked, unexplored, and rarely documented. This video is part of an ongoing series uncovering that side of the island — the Jamaica beyond the beaches. 13 Forbidden Places in Montserrat You're Not Allowed To Visit
Montserrat has a Georgian capital city buried under metres of volcanic ash and sealed behind a government line that has not moved in more than 20 years, a hilltop recording studio where the Rolling Stones cut the last album ever made there, now collapsing behind a locked fence, and a farming village where 19 people died in under 20 minutes on a single Wednesday morning. Two-thirds of the island is a sealed exclusion zone. Almost none of it can be legally visited. In this video, we explore: → A protected rainforest reserve in the Centre Hills, the one forbidden place on the island the volcano never touched. Last refuge of the national bird and a frog now close to extinction, where it is an offence to cut a single tree above a set elevation. → A farming village on the eastern flank that the pyroclastic flows ran straight through to the sea in 1997. It sat beside some of the oldest Amerindian sites on the island, all of it now sealed in the south. → The heart of Montserrat's Irish-Catholic settlement, the reason it is called the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean. Emptied by the flows, while the island still throws the only national St Patrick's Day festival outside Ireland. → Three stretches of ocean where boats may pass in daylight but are forbidden to stop or anchor. With almost no traffic for years, the reefs have grown back into some of the healthiest in the eastern Caribbean. → The island's wealthiest suburb, abandoned in the 1990s and never reoccupied. The government has offered people money to rebuild there, and almost no one has taken it. → A hill closed to the public for more than 30 years, reopened only by permit. One of the few points from which the buried capital can still be seen in full, the whole dead grid laid out below. → The luxury hotel that housed the musicians recording on the island, abandoned mid-operation with the ledger reportedly still open at June 1995. Its great pool is now a sunken garden, its lower floors filled to the ceiling with mud. → The farming districts on the northern flank where, on a Wednesday morning in June 1997, 19 people were killed in under 20 minutes. They were the only lives the eruption took, every one of them still named in the island's records. → A 70-foot waterfall, a field of boiling sulphur springs, and a sugar plantation studied by archaeologists for two and a half centuries, buried together under a single run of volcanic flow in March 1997. → The volcano itself, silent for roughly 400 years before it woke in 1995. Its lava dome has since grown taller than the peak it buried, and no one is permitted within three miles of the summit. → The island's only airport, its runway swallowed whole in a single afternoon. It is still visible from a safe-zone lookout, while its replacement in the north was built with a runway a fraction of the length. → The hilltop studio George Martin built, where Dire Straits, the Police and the Rolling Stones recorded before Hurricane Hugo closed it in 1989. It is decaying now behind a locked fence, never reopened. And at number one: Plymouth, a Georgian capital city on the southwest coast, buried under metres of ash and mud and sealed behind a boundary that has not moved in more than 20 years. The roof of its church and the top of its old clock tower still rise above the grey, and satellite images still show the street grid clearly, a city-shaped pattern under volcanic deposit. It is the only abandoned city on earth that remains the official capital of its territory, and entering it without a police escort is a criminal offence. Writers who reach the boundary keep calling it a modern Pompeii: a whole town stopped mid-sentence. EUROPE’S RICHEST HERITAGE NATION - Where History and Technology Move Forward Together | Travel video
#travelvideo #exploretravel #germanytravel Germany holds one of the highest concentrations of heritage sites in Europe, where fairytale castles, medieval towns, centuries-old cathedrals, and monumental architecture appear throughout a single journey. This travel video explores regions shaped by layers of history, from former centers of power to settlements that have preserved their original character for hundreds of years. Beyond its familiar image, Germany reveals a landscape built through centuries of political, cultural, and architectural development. Fortified castles, historic squares, clock towers, palaces, and old town districts form an extensive network of heritage landmarks across the country. Many of these structures remain defining features of modern cities while preserving their historical significance. The journey continues through ancient forests, green valleys, crystal-clear lakes, and mountain landscapes stretching toward the Alps. The constant transition between heritage, architecture, and nature creates a remarkable diversity rarely found within a single European nation. Each region preserves a different chapter of Germany’s story, from imperial legacies and trade routes to cultural traditions passed down through generations. 00:00 Intro 01:26 Europa-Park – A theme park recreating Europe. 03:47 Cologne Cathedral – A twin-towered Gothic landmark cathedral. 06:21 Saxon Switzerland – A labyrinth-like sandstone mountain range. 08:44 Heidelberg Old Town – An old town along the river, hilltop castle. 11:13 Sanssouci Palace – A symmetrical terraced garden palace. 13:30 Rothenburg ob der Tauber – A perfectly preserved medieval town. 15:58 Dresden Frauenkirche – A church rebuilt after the war. 18:27 Königssee – A jade-green alpine lake, high cliffs. 20:52 Romantic Road – A route connecting historic towns. 23:04 Lake Constance – A large lake bordering three countries. 25:06 Lüneburg Heath – A seasonal purple flower heath. 27:38 Würzburg Residence – A large Baroque palace with frescoes. 30:01 Bamberg Old Town – An old town spread across multiple hills. 32:19 Wadden Sea – A sea that reveals its seabed with the tides. 34:36 Sylt Island – A sandy island, strong sea winds. 36:40 Rügen Island – White chalk cliffs along the Baltic Sea. 39:07 Meissen – The birthplace of European porcelain. 41:32 Quedlinburg – A town densely filled with timber-framed houses. 43:34 Harz National Park – Forested mountains, steam trains. 45:56 Eibsee – A clear lake beneath high mountains. 48:03 Speicherstadt – A red-brick warehouse district along canals. 50:23 Nymphenburg Palace – A palace with a long canal axis. 52:41 Garmisch-Partenkirchen – An Alpine town beneath Zugspitze. 54:45 Herrenchiemsee Palace – An island palace modeled after Versailles. 57:07 Neuschwanstein Castle – Fairytale fortress surrounded by Bavaria’s alpine mountains 59:27 Black Forest – Dense woodland region filled with timeless villages 01:01:43 Berchtesgaden National Park – Alpine landscapes with lakes and towering limestone peaks 01:03:59 outro CODE SOUDTRIPE MUSIC: EMGUUMQOUJGGQGVN, GDFPET2EDMNSYBAN, IC1C1W7J3KRHKRM9, IPDXOJHV47FQOBZU, ILT5O8K5KVAKKA5S, XQPJ7WZMABWKQQF6, NONEKLKAG4CPDTJS, PVEJKXTU7QCN1OEH, 892FXHFHHVGWGQPD,GRISHAVUJTSIHXPD, KKBJTJAUTW825LMP, KKBJTJAUTW825LMP, 9IG6ND8GIUIJ4TXP, GYSXNKSL6WCAWUYN, XEWXXZBJ34BP5H9T, 1QWTTNOZVP2LMU1N, 17MPZBBT5ATQRQCG, KHGFOLPLYE5JSA16, NZC27AZHJ3NRM8KF.

Wonders of Utah | The State That Looks Like Another Planet | Travel Documentary 4K
Utah travel documentary in 4K covering amzing destinations across one of the most geologically extreme states in America, a cinematic journey through red rock canyons, ancient salt flats, and towering sandstone formations that reveal why Utah draws millions of travelers every year. This documentary visits landscapes so alien in color and texture that they seem pulled from another planet entirely, yet every location shown exists within a single state. Hit that subscribe button — it's completely free and really motivates me to create more content: https://www.youtube.com/@PathfindersTravel-YT?sub_confirmation=1 The journey opens at the Great Salt Lake, one of the largest salt lakes in the Western Hemisphere, before crossing to the Bonneville Salt Flats, a vast white expanse that has set land speed records and looks like frozen infinity. The documentary then moves south toward Monument Valley, where the towering sandstone buttes that have defined the visual identity of the American West rise hundreds of feet above the valley floor. Lake Powell follows, a reservoir carved into canyon walls that shift color through every hour of sunlight. Nearby, Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument offer slot canyons and layered rock formations built across millions of years. Kodachrome Basin State Park delivers columns of sedimentary stone in shades of red, orange, and cream. Zion National Park stands among the most visited parks in the United States, and the footage here captures the sheer vertical walls of Zion Canyon in full 4K clarity. Bryce Canyon National Park follows with its dense forest of hoodoos, while Capitol Reef National Park reveals the Waterpocket Fold, a 100-mile wrinkle in the earth's crust. Goblin Valley State Park and the San Rafael Swell showcase Utah's stranger geological formations before the documentary reaches Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park outside Moab, home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches. The film closes through the Wasatch Mountains, Provo Canyon, Salt Lake City, and Park City, showing the full range of Utah's landscapes. 📍 Chapters: 00:00 Welcome to Utah 02:29 Great Salt Lake 05:22 Bonneville Salt Flats 08:09 Monument Valley 10:48 Lake Powell 13:16 Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs 15:39 Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument 18:13 Kodachrome Basin State Park 21:05 Bryce Canyon National Park 23:58 Zion National Park 27:00 Snow Canyon State Park 29:14 Capitol Reef National Park 31:47 Capitol Reef Region 34:37 Goblin Valley State Park 36:57 San Rafael Swell 39:46 Canyonlands National Park 42:31 Arches National Park 45:08 Moab 47:56 Dinosaur National Monument 50:41 Wasatch Mountains 53:07 Provo Canyon 55:47 Provo 58:30 Salt Lake City 61:07 Park City 🎬 Watch Next: • Wonders of Alaska | The Most Amazing Places in Alaska | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/2oFr1dlEdtM • Oregon | Is This the Most ALIEN Landscape in America? | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/8vbk69xwBtk • Montana: Is This the ONLY State Where You Can Buy a MOUNTAIN? | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/UE-07SBegPY 🌍 https://pathfinders-travel.com #PathfindersTravel #Utah #ZionNationalPark #TravelDocumentary
