TINY LANDS IN THE ENDLESS OCEAN - where the world almost disappears | Travel video
#travelvideo #exploretravel #oceantravel Scattered across the vast Atlantic Ocean are islands that look unlike anywhere else on Earth. Some were shaped by powerful volcanic forces rising from the seafloor, while others are defined by towering sea cliffs, remote coastlines, and landscapes that have evolved in isolation for centuries. In this video, we explore some of the most remarkable Atlantic Islands, revealing places where nature has created extraordinary scenery in the middle of one of the world's largest oceans. Far beyond their postcard views, these islands tell stories of geological change, human adaptation, and cultures shaped by life on the edge of the Atlantic. From rugged peaks emerging directly from the sea to green valleys hidden among windswept coastlines, each destination offers a different perspective on how diverse the Atlantic Islands can be. Their isolation has preserved unique environments, distinctive traditions, and landscapes that continue to surprise even experienced travelers. This journey is not only about beautiful places. It is also about understanding how geography, climate, and the ocean have influenced life across these distant lands. Along the way, you'll discover locations that remain largely unknown to the wider world despite their incredible natural beauty. 00:00 Intro 01:09 South Georgia (United Kingdom) – Icy nature, wildlife 03:09 Madeira (Portugal) – Green volcanic island all year round 05:32 Sable Island (Canada) – Long sand island with wild horses 07:59 Tenerife (Spain) – Highest volcano in Spain 10:19 Greenland (Denmark) – Massive drifting ice, deep fjords 12:40 Ilha Grande (Brazil) – Pristine tropical forest near the sea 14:51 Faroe Islands (Denmark) – Steep cliffs, isolated villages 17:03 Ascension Island (United Kingdom) – Isolated volcanic island in the ocean 19:16 Gran Canaria (Spain) – Desert dunes in the middle of the sea 21:37 Saint Helena (United Kingdom) – Exile island in the ocean 23:49 Fernando de Noronha (Brazil) – Crystal-clear waters, protected ecosystem 25:59 Iceland (Iceland) – Ice and fire coexist 28:23 Newfoundland (Canada) – Cliffs, historic fishing villages 30:39 Príncipe (São Tomé & Príncipe) – Small untouched island with little tourism 32:51 Fuerteventura (Spain) – Strong winds, endless beaches 34:57 Azores (Portugal) – Volcanic lakes and hot springs 36:55 Falkland Islands (United Kingdom) – Windy grasslands, seabirds 398:58 Prince Edward Island (Canada) – Red soil island, gentle coastline 41:18 Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) – Dry volcanic land, African culture 43:44 Skye (United Kingdom) – Rugged rocky terrain, dramatic scenery 45:52 Lanzarote (Spain) – Volcanic landscape like another planet 48:30 Bermuda (United Kingdom) – Pink sand beaches and blue sea 50:37 Outro CODE SOUNDSTRIPE MUSIC: HKWNQTFMKDYU3H0H, LOOXH6P3XLHKPV54, V6KNMI6FMF5LWORG, ASAS1KVFAHFXO9WZ, 1RXII3NGK0PVZYK5, UKXLLHFVAYQ7WBKE, YJQULKIRNJA9OYFI, AWC4D2K7WSTTFQPP, QZGNYIIY08MQPGH9, 6HNKUDSBGQRTXOUL, WDU15URMJFPWHAKB, 2UCFGHNNVL5Z6RXO, IFIRTUQSZWJRACHW, IHUWERFMWZ6FUTIP, XUTFLHGCIQDV6ORE, Z5KQ5JZG95KMBUC2, NF1GBQ0EXFDGAHKJ, STTPGUHIJX7ECFJN, LNV2ISS8DYSJ5NL1, 7FIQGEID1QI54CMN, U4CFH4BSBE8LGVZW, 7YDTJ5WZEODHNMY2, 0C20J5CO25UTJPKG, 5QKOFWLLCGJLEKE9, Y9SEROS1B4RX8BJE, LPIDN0ZG3SLBD3MR, RARJHROPRENYQCAC, JXMRWIAXVODZGNS4, 5DDEL2UHMDAV3WT5, IRXCFUJYGC6IXYYW, SI36DPCMUOFYGYL3

Inside Jamaica’s Hidden Salt Flats: A Dead Sea?
#jamaica #JamaicanHistory #HiddenJamaica Just one hour from Kingston, hidden in plain sight along the St Thomas coastline, two ancient salt ponds sit side by side — hypersaline, historically significant, and almost completely forgotten. The Yallahs Salt Ponds were born from one of the most catastrophic events in Caribbean history — the earthquake of June 7, 1692 — the same disaster that swallowed Port Royal into the sea. But while Port Royal gets all the attention, something equally extraordinary happened in Yallahs. The earth cracked open. The sea rushed in. And two separate ponds formed — up to 15 times saltier than the ocean — powered by nothing but Jamaican sun and three centuries of evaporation. In this video we break down the science of how it happened, the geology behind why there are TWO ponds and not one, and the local folklore that the people of St Thomas have carried for over 300 years — a story of two brothers, one woman, and a piece of land that the earth itself divided. We also ask the question nobody is asking — why is one of Jamaica's most remarkable natural phenomena sitting largely undeveloped while other countries build entire industries and tourism economies on far less? 🔍 IN THIS VIDEO: The science of land subsidence and how the 1692 earthquake created the ponds Why the water is up to 15 times saltier than the sea The 300-year-old folklore behind the twin ponds What Jamaica could be doing with this natural resource Why the Yallahs Ponds deserve a place on Jamaica's heritage map 📍 LOCATION: Yallahs, St Thomas, Jamaica Thank you for watching this video.
