In a democracy, citizens do not require permission to speak their minds. This video emphasizes the importance of unfiltered freedom of speech, even if expressions are rough or offensive, as a vital part of public discourse. When authority begins to police the tone of public discourse, democracy itself is at risk. There’s a reason birds go wild before sunrise. It’s called the dawn chorus. Spring is mating season, and birds are migrating from their winter homes to breed. Singing helps them attract partners and not only that, it also helps marking their territory. AND side note: Both males and females sing, but males sing more. And yes, they sing louder at dawn. It’s a hard competition. The most impressive ones will get a mate, so they need to be loud. BUT also, being loud also helps claim their territory. AND there’s another reason: different bird species sing at the same time, and everybody wants to be heard, so volume really matters. But why so early? Scientists are not sure, BUT they think early morning air helps sound travel better because of less wind, cooler temperatures, and less noise. So, birdsongs before sunrise are basically a mix of love calls, competition, and a natural time when their voices carry best.
