JAMAICA WITH IRIE
The most HISTORIC ECLIPSE in JAMAICA.
I captured the most historic eclipse in Jamaica, which happened on 14 March 2025. The reason why this eclipse is so significant is that it mirrors the eclipse that Christopher Columbus is said to have used in 1504 to trick the indigenous people of Jamaica into believing he had godlike powers, which, in turn, became one of the events that shaped Jamaican history.

I decided to check if that story with Columbus and the Taíno actually happened, how we know about it, and whether it is true that in March 2025, we experienced the same Total Lunar Eclipse as the Taino and the Spanish experienced on 1 March 1504?

See page 21, type "luna" in search to see the required line, then copy-paste a paragraph with this word in latin into ChatGPT and ask for translation to English. You will see that the text in latin explicitly states that the Cibao mountain inhabitants (modern day Hispaniola) measured time in "lunas", which suggests that they were using the Moon as a reference for their calendar. This aligns with the idea that the Taíno and other indigenous groups used a lunar calendar, tracking time based on lunar cycles rather than the European solar system.

says that the indigenous people had a time system using lunar months, marking October, November, and December in connection with the Moon. A tribute system was established according to these months.
