Captain Daniel Ruiz could not override the system, while Sergeant Tyler Kane nearly triggered an even deeper lockdown by forcing open the main corridor. Maya stopped him, analyzed the security sequence, and discovered something far more disturbing than a technical malfunction: surveillance records were being copied to a hidden internal server before they were erased. Only seven people were inside the building at the time, which meant the person responsible might still be somewhere inside the facility. Maya managed to interrupt the purge with only twenty-three seconds remaining, but one unexplained code survived in the damaged records: G-7. As the only UK supermarket to operate its own working farm, Waitrose is committed to helping farmers transition to regenerative practices by 2030. But what exactly is regenerative farming? At its core, this technique treats soil as a living ecosystem that requires care. In the UK alone, 2 to 3 million tons of topsoil are lost every year, yet depending on the soil type, building just a single centimeter of topsoil can take 400 to 1,000 years. One key practice is the inclusion of something called an herbal ley, a field left to grow a rich mix of plants. These fields become self-sufficient, and even in dry summers, are able to provide food for grazing cows, rebuilding soil beneath the surface. When we care for the land, the land can care for us.
