Germany’s foreign minister sought to repair relations between President Donald Trump and Chancellor Friedrich Merz, saying the government in Berlin supports the US aim to ensure Iran can’t obtain a nuclear weapon. In an interview with Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, Johann Wadephul said the US-led campaign in Iran has already disrupted the Islamic Republic’s ability to move toward a nuclear weapon and “more or less destroyed” the country’s missile program. Hippos are thriving in Colombia, more than 30 years after their arrival. In the 1980s notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar brought the hippos to Colombia for his private ranch. The hippos thrived in an environment similar to their native lands, and today there's a healthy population in the region. But while the hippos are a welcome sight to many, they can also be a nuisance. The massive animals can be seen wandering through city streets and even chasing locals. He works primarily with items from resale shops and junkyards, incorporating the found objects into his photography and site-specific installations. Wearing a trash can for a helmet and a fabric scrap for a vest, he is suddenly transformed into a seemingly noble character that mimics the style of paintings done by the old masters. Pink dolphins in Hong Kong's harbor? Yes. Chinese white dolphins to be exact—though they're known for their pink color, derived from a network of blood vessels close to the surface of their skin. Conservationists warn that the dolphins are at risk of vanishing from Hong Kong waters, with the local population declining by more than half over the past decade, to around 60 individuals today. The decline of these appealing marine mammals is largely attributed to water pollution and the habitat loss that has come with expanded development in and along the harbor.
