Banned For Being a Woman: Boxer Doesn’t Stop Fighting | Short Film Showcase
Cuba has a prolific Olympic boxing record, and yet the country doesn't allow female boxers to go to the Olympics. Namibia Flores Rodriguez is a female Cuban boxer. She's trained every day for years, readying herself for when that ban is lifted, with the single objective to represent Cuba and become an Olympic champion. She's faced every stereotype that a woman who wants to box can face. This short documentary by Maceo Frost tells her story of hope and dedication. Directed by Maceo Frost. Produced by Made by Forest. Could Iran Not Be on Agenda During US-China Summit?
Josh Lipsky, Vice President & Chair of International Economics at the Atlantic Council, suggests Iran will not be on the agenda when Presidents Trump & Xi meet because Trump wants to “come away with the visit with some deliverables.” Lipsky also talks about the impact China is feeling with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and if China comes into talks in a stronger position. Josh Lipsky speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on the late edition of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power.” -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? Desert Monster Tries to Survive in the American Southwest | National Geographic
The colorful Gila monster is threatened by increasingly hot and dry weather. Although celebrated as one of Arizona’s most recognized animals, Gila monsters are physiologically ill adapted for the Sonoran Desert. Little is known about the population, but it enjoys a protected status in Arizona. However, because of a growing human population, as well as climate change, which is making the Sonoran Desert hotter and drier, the Gila monster’s future is in doubt. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. Is There Congressional Support For Trump's Temporary US Gas Tax Halt?
Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the House Judiciary Committee, backs President Trump's push for a federal gas tax holiday, calling the 18-cent cut "symbolic" but still meaningful for consumers despite previously criticizing a similar proposal under the Biden administration. Issa also says China must be "part of the solution" to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and defends staying the course in the Iran conflict despite rising inflation and gas prices, arguing long-term peace outweighs short-term economic pain. Nature’s Beautiful Misfits Sculpted from Scrap Metal | Short Film Showcase
Edouard Martinet's art will make you reimagine the insect world. The Frenchman's sculptures are distinctly creepy, true to nature, and full of life. His medium is piles of bent metals and cast-off bits and pieces with shapes that appeal to him: bike parts, kitchen spatulas, trumpet parts, umbrella ribs—anything can be of use. Putting these items together only requires a few tools, although Martinet's process takes months and is a test of patience. This short documentary follows his process for creating sculptures that are contradicting in the sense that they're both beautiful and, well, junk. How the Trump-Xi Relationship Has Changed
Donald Trump is expecting economic deals and a “wild” welcome this week in China. In reality, he’ll arrive facing an emboldened Xi Jinping, just as his own hand is constrained by the conflict in Iran.  When the US president touches down in Beijing on Wednesday evening for a 36-hour summit, it’ll mark his first overseas trip since waging war in the Middle East. Over talks at the Great Hall of the People and a state dinner, followed by morning tea, the leaders will discuss trade, tariffs and the self-ruled island of Taiwan. Another agenda item, of course, is Iran.  Sara Schuman, Managing Director at Beacon Global Strategies and former Senior Trade Representative for China at the Office of the United States Trade Representative joins Balance of Power to discuss. -------- Watch Bloomberg Radio LIVE on YouTube Weekdays 7am-6pm ET Saturday & Sunday 7am-10am ET WATCH HERE: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/BloombergRadio Subscribe to our Podcasts: Bloomberg Daybreak: http://bit.ly/3DWYoAN Bloomberg Surveillance: http://bit.ly/3OPtReI Bloomberg Intelligence: http://bit.ly/3YrBfOi Balance of Power: http://bit.ly/3OO8eLC Bloomberg Businessweek: http://bit.ly/3IPl60i Listen on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Bloomberg Business app: Apple CarPlay: https://apple.co/486mghI Android Auto: https://bit.ly/49benZy Visit our YouTube channels: Bloomberg Podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/bloombergpodcasts Bloomberg Television: https://www.youtube.com/@markets Bloomberg Originals: https://www.youtube.com/bloomberg Quicktake: https://www.youtube.com/@BloombergQuicktake

US President Donald Trump said he would prioritize trade discussions during his summit with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, and downplayed the amount of attention they would devote to the Iran war. “We’re going to be talking to President Xi about a lot of things. I would say, more than anything, trade,” Trump told reporters Tuesday at the White House as he departed for the highly anticipated meeting in Beijing. “We have a lot of things to discuss. I wouldn’t say Iran is one of them, to be honest with you, because we have Iran very much under control,” he added. “We’re either going to make a deal or they’re going to be decimated one way or the other.” He spoke to reporters at the White House. -------- Watch Bloomberg Radio LIVE on YouTube Weekdays 7am-6pm ET Saturday & Sunday 7am-10am ET WATCH HERE: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/BloombergRadio Subscribe to our Podcasts: Bloomberg Daybreak: http://bit.ly/3DWYoAN Bloomberg Surveillance: http://bit.ly/3OPtReI Bloomberg Intelligence: http://bit.ly/3YrBfOi Balance of Power: http://bit.ly/3OO8eLC Bloomberg Businessweek: http://bit.ly/3IPl60i Listen on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Bloomberg Business app: Apple CarPlay: https://apple.co/486mghI Android Auto: https://bit.ly/49benZy Visit our YouTube channels: Bloomberg Podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/bloombergpodcasts Bloomberg Television: https://www.youtube.com/@markets Bloomberg Originals: https://www.youtube.com/bloomberg Quicktake: https://www.youtube.com/@BloombergQuicktake
