Iran War: Can Trump Really Reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Friday?
President Donald Trump says the Strait of Hormuz will be open by Friday when a peace deal with Iran is to be signed, but it's not clear how that will happen. Becca Wasser, defense lead for Bloomberg Economics, says the waterway may not be open as Trump envisions. There are still unanswered questions about what exactly a reopening of the strait will look like, whether it will be safe to cross after months of false starts, and if the waterway will be restored as a toll-free zone. She reports on "Balance of Power." -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? Primatologist and conservationist Dian Fossey was found murdered in her cabin in 1985. ➡ Subscribe: https://on.natgeo.com/4p5A0D6 About Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist is a three hour series for National Geographic Channel. The series tells the story of the life, work, murder and legacy of gorilla researcher Dian Fossey. The series will weave together three story strands. The first is the story of Dian's life and work - her childhood, her early days researching in Congo and her arrival in Rwanda for the 18 years she studied Mountain Gorillas. The second strand covers Dian's murder in Rwanda and the trial of her American co-worker Wayne McGuire, who was found guilty of her murder. Wayne fled Rwanda before the trial began but was convicted in absentia. He has always maintained his innocence. We intend to reopen the case by reviewing the evidence (if it can be located) and speaking with people who knew and worked with Dian and were involved in investigating the murder. Finally, we will tell the story of Dian's legacy by filming the Pablo troop of gorillas, which includes the silverback Cantsbee, the most successful gorilla ever known. The series will use archive footage and still images, interviews with people who knew and worked with Dian, specially shot footage and reconstruction to tell the life story of Dian Fossey and the aftermath of her murder. The delta is a wildlife paradise and home to many exotic animals like elephants, hippos, sitatungas, and African fish eagles. But the delta is in danger as Angola seeks to develop the upper reaches of the Cuito and Cubango. Increasingly, forests along the banks are being burned down for river access, hunting, and subsistence crops. With these growing pressures, the future of the delta is at stake. The Okavango Wilderness Project is rooted in this cause. National Geographic Society sponsored an intrepid expedition team to research and survey the headwaters and document the need to protect the ecosystem. This animated video will reveal some the team's wildlife discoveries and the environmental concerns the delta faces—as well as the tricky business of conservation across political borders.
