US, Iran Prepare for Deal Signing With Both Claiming Victory
The US and Iran are preparing to formally sign their interim peace deal in Switzerland on Friday, with both sides claiming victory and oil traders and shippers unsure over how quickly the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened. The text of the so-called memorandum of understanding — a 14-point document that should lead to a two-month ceasefire extension and the start of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program — has yet to be published. A senior US official said it’s possible that happens in the next two days, ahead of the signing ceremony in Geneva. Vice President JD Vance is expected to head the American delegation, while Iran will likely be represented by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Josh Wingrove, Bloomberg News Senior Washington Correspondent, joins from Geneva with the latest. -------- Watch Bloomberg Radio LIVE on YouTube Weekdays 7am-6pm ET Saturday & Sunday 7am-10am ET WATCH HERE: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF Follow us on X: https://twitter.com/BloombergRadio Subscribe to our Podcasts: Bloomberg Daybreak: http://bit.ly/3DWYoAN Bloomberg Surveillance: http://bit.ly/3OPtReI Bloomberg Intelligence: http://bit.ly/3YrBfOi Balance of Power: http://bit.ly/3OO8eLC Bloomberg Businessweek: http://bit.ly/3IPl60i Listen on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Bloomberg Business app: Apple CarPlay: https://apple.co/486mghI Android Auto: https://bit.ly/49benZy Visit our YouTube channels: Bloomberg Podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/bloombergpodcasts Bloomberg Television: https://www.youtube.com/@markets Bloomberg Originals: https://www.youtube.com/bloomberg Quicktake: https://www.youtube.com/@BloombergQuicktake

Ordinary women living in Central Europe around 5,000 BC had even stronger arms than some exceptional women athletes today. ➡ Subscribe: https://on.natgeo.com/4p5A0D6 About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. The proof is in their bones. A research team led by Alison Macintosh of the University of Cambridge compared ancient female skeletons with bones of modern women athletes, including members of this rowing team. One finding: ordinary women living around 5,000 BC had even stronger arms than the modern athletes. Previous studies compared bones of ancient women with men from the same era. That led to an underestimate for the women's muscle strength. Life in early agrarian societies included lots of upper body exercise. Grinding grain into flour took enormous effort, with an effect on the arms similar to rowing. Such clues from ancient women's bones can teach us about their labor, and their lives. Despite the current trend of declining numbers, there is still hope for the species to flourish once again in the wild. The Somkhanda Game Reserve in South Africa is one of the groups working to bring back lions to their area for the first time in 100 years. The team aims to relocate a pride—one male and two females—from a nearby reserve whose lion population has exceeded their capacity. This massive conservation effort will hopefully counteract the larger trend and provide Somkhanda with the final piece to be a “big five” game reserve.
