Srebrenica: The Massacre That Shook the World and Changed Nothing | Full Documentary
In the 1990s, the collapse of Yugoslavia triggered nearly a decade of war in the Balkans, leaving more than 100,000 dead and millions displaced in the worst European conflict since World War II. This documentary follows the final and bloodiest phase of that disintegration: from the Washington Agreement of March 1994 to the fall of Srebrenica on July 11, 1995, when General Ratko Mladic's troops breached the UN protection zone and systematically murdered over 8,000 Muslim men and boys in the largest massacre on European soil since 1945. While the United Nations watched and stalled, Sarajevo endured the longest siege of the 20th century at 1,425 days, until NATO's Operation Deliberate Force in August 1995 forced the warring parties to the table, ending the Bosnian War with the Dayton Agreement signed in Paris on December 14, 1995. Yet peace proved fragile: as the Kosovo Liberation Army, founded in 1996, escalated its guerrilla war against Serbian forces, the Racak massacre of January 1999 triggered NATO's Operation Allied Force on March 24, 1999, with 78 days of airstrikes that saw German jets in combat for the first time since World War II. Milosevic capitulated in June 1999, and Karadzic and Mladic were eventually sentenced to life imprisonment in The Hague, but with Bosnia's ethnic divisions frozen, Kosovo's independence still unrecognized by Serbia, and outside powers competing for influence across the region, the powder keg of the Western Balkans remains dangerously unresolved. -- Welcome to the official Get.factual youtube channel! 🌍 We are a documentary streaming channel covering history, science, technology, and nature. David Attenborough Shines a Light on Glowing Animals | 4K Nature Documentary
This nature documentary, guided by Sir David Attenborough, reveals a hidden world that has existed all around us completely invisible, until now. The ocean glows. The soil beneath your feet glows. And for the first time in history, we finally have the technology to see it all. Bioluminescence, living light produced by animals, fungi, and microorganisms has captivated humans for centuries. Fireflies dancing in summer darkness, waves sparkling with millions of luminous plankton and the ghostly shimmer of deep-sea creatures in a world where sunlight never reaches. And here's the truly staggering truth: bioluminescence may not be the rare exception we always assumed. It may be the norm. From the deepest ocean trenches to your own garden, living light is everywhere and it may hold critical clues to understanding the biological balance of our planet and the mechanisms of global warming. 🔔 Subscribe for more amazing nature documentaries and wildlife films 👍 Like this video if the natural world never ceases to amaze you 💬 Have you ever witnessed bioluminescence in the wild?
