This is what a ripe Guava Mango will look like when it's ready to pick. Here is the description of the Guava Mango from the Tropical Acres Farms Website https://www.tropicalacresfarms.com/product-page/guava This mango is from Myanmar, and is grown on commercial scale in that country for export to other parts of Asia. Also known as the "Diamond Solitaire" or simply 'Diamond' mango (*NOT* to be confused with the Zill 'Diamond', aka HW-14, to which it bears no relation) It is considered to be of excellent eating quality and a good producer. It has also been propagated in south Florida under the name "Guava". Walter Zill had been made aware of a very old unknown tree growing in the Jupiter-area many years ago and took budwood from it. When customers remarked about its aroma and flavor having a 'Guava' component this name stuck. It was only later discovered to be the same mango as 'Sein Ta Lone'. At this point it is likely more have been grafted under the name 'Guava' in the Florida nursery industry. The fruit is small-to-medium sized, oval/ovate in shape with yellow skin color and no red blush. The flesh is firm, fiberless, and sweet with a unique flavor that is difficult to describe but contains both Indochinese and Indian characteristics. It contains a seed that is sometimes polyembryonic. We planted a tree in 2017 for evaluation and It fruited in 2019. Several other trees were planted and they've fruited most years, displaying some level of consistency, along with good disease resistance. The trees are fairly vigorous growers, with spreading and very open canopies. The foliage tends to have large, distinctively-shaped leaves. Sein Ta Lone/Guava is normally an early/early-mid season mango here ripening from May to July. Flavor: Indochinese-hybrid Country: Myanmar
