Delivering two container homes to families who lost their homes during hurricane Melissa .
In this video, we take you with us to Westmoreland — specifically Darliston — where we delivered two container homes to families who were displaced after the storm.
Our initial GoFundMe goal was $25,000, and at the time of purchasing the homes, we had received $18,000. We used those funds to buy two container houses, cover transportation and installation, add bathrooms, purchase mattresses, and provide basic household items to help the families rebuild their lives.
With the remaining funds, we created relief packages for the wider community — food items, water, mosquito repellents, wipes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other essentials. Every dollar was used with purpose and intention.
There are also many behind-the-scenes costs that come with doing this kind of work, but we always make sure every dollar is stretched and used with intention to help as many families as possible.
We want you to SEE exactly where your donations are going and know that because of you, two families now have a safe roof over their heads. And because of your continued support, we’ll be able to stay on the ground and help more families across the parishes that were affected.
This isn’t political — it’s simply humanity. To ensure we reached the families most in need, we worked with the MP for the area and als for the futures ones we will drive through the communities ourselves, speaking directly with residents and identifying the most urgent cases. Our priority has always been vulnerable families, especially single mothers and children who have nowhere else to go.
We’re not able to help everyone, but we are committed to doing as much as we can. And we encourage anyone — whether through us or on your own — to adopt a family, donate, or support in any way you can. A little truly goes a long way.
