Хлоя Ким из США стала победительницей соревнований в хафпайпе, выиграв вторую Олимпиаду в этой дисциплине фристайла подряд. В керлинге команда Сергея Глухова одержала победу в матче кругового турнира против команды КНР. Первую половину игры керлингисты ROC уступали своим соперникам. Но бросок Глухова в девятом энде переломил ход игры. В итоге соперники досрочно завершили игру. Победа ROC – 7:4. Евгений Семененко стал лучшим из фигуристов-одиночников ROC в индивидуальном олимпийском турнире. В сумме за короткую и произвольную программы Семененко стал восьмым. Третий комплект наград для девушек-лыжниц был разыгран на трассе в Чжанцзякоу. В разделке на 10 км несмотря на колоссальную работу на финише, Наталье Непряевой не хватило всего 0.1 секунды, чтобы завоевать бронзу. В горнолыжном спорте мужчины соревновались в суперкомбинации. Австриец Йоханнес Штрольц по сумме двух попыток стал олимпийским чемпионом. В сноуборд-кроссе, в соревнованиях мужчин, сильнее всех оказался австриец Алессандро Хаммерле. Он в финальном заезде не оставил шансов 20-летнему канадцу Элиоту Грондену. Соревнования среди смешанных команд в акробатическом фристайле дебютировали на зимней Олимпиаде. Главными фаворитами в этой дисциплине являлись хозяева Игр, которые лидируют в Кубке мира.
