Hegseth says he watched the first strike on a drug boat
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said he wasn’t watching when a top US admiral ordered a second strike on an alleged drug-running boat on Sept. 2, which prompted accusations of possible war crimes. “As you can imagine, at the Department of War, we got a lot of things to do, so I didn’t stick around for the hour and two hours, whatever, where all the sensitive site exploitation digitally occurs,” he said. Of any confusion or criticism of the attack, Hegseth said “this is called the fog of war.” “This is what you and the press don’t understand,” Hegseth said as Trump looked on. “You sit in your air conditioned offices, you’re up on Capitol Hill, and you nitpick.” Read more: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-02/admiral-at-center-of-venezuela-boat-strikes-to-brief-us-senators ---------- Like this video? China's Xi hosts French President Macron #china #war #shorts
French President Emmanuel Macron will lobby his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, this week to try to avert tariffs on dairy and pork exports to China. France has resolved some outstanding trade disagreements with China, including on Cognac, according to a French official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. But tariffs on dairy and pork are still at risk and will be a focus of French discussions in China. Beijing is weighing the duties as possible retaliation for the European Union’s decision last year to impose tariffs as high as 45% on Chinese-made electric vehicles, a move that was backed by Paris. French agriculture exports to China have dropped by around 20% to €3 billion, according to the French Treasury.
