13 Places in Jamaica You Should NEVER Visit Alone
Jamaica has a mountainside that came down in 1692 and buried a plantation with at least 19 people on it, a safari river where a body was found with apparent crocodile bites in 2024, and a village where 40 people drowned in their beds in a single night in 1937. The island keeps the longest written record of its dead in the Caribbean. Every one of them has a body count. In this video, we explore: → A 300-year-old silk-cotton tree that fell across a main highway one Monday evening and blocked it for over a day. → A cave the authorities closed to the public in 2014, named for two sisters who are said to have jumped into its black water. → A clear blue swimming river in Westmoreland that gave back the body of a man who went missing in 2023. → A mountain pass where the trucks lose their brakes, and a 2024 crash that caught fire and killed two drivers. → A famous limestone waterfall where a boy drowned and climbers have come off the terraces with broken bones. → A trackless interior of green stone cones where colonial soldiers were cut down and modern hikers still get lost. → A Maroon mountain stronghold the army destroyed in the 1730s, high in the Blue Mountains. → A man-made waterfall with no rails and no lifeguards where a woman drowned diving from the top in 2017. → A hill of hairpin bends that families have marked with roadside crosses after years of fatal crashes. → A sunset cliff in Negril where the bars sell the jump, and a 2014 dive ended on the rocks below. → A Portland river that rose at one in the morning in 1937 and drowned forty villagers in their sleep. → A safari river in St Elizabeth where the boats run daily past wild American crocodiles, and a body turned up in 2024. And at number one: above the Yallahs valley in St Thomas, a pale scar runs almost a thousand feet down the mountain. On the morning of June 7, 1692, the same earthquake that drowned Port Royal shook this hillside loose, and one of the largest landslides ever recorded in Jamaica buried a working plantation and the people on it. The survivors named it Judgement Cliff. No one will build on the ground it covered to this day. Subscribe for more of the Caribbean's buried, forbidden, and unexplained places. Scotland | The Land That Time Forgot | Travel Documentary 4K
Scotland travel documentary in 4K covering 28 destinations across this ancient and atmospheric land, a cinematic journey through castle ruins, misty highlands, and island coastlines that reveal why Scotland travel draws visitors from across the globe. This Scotland documentary captures the raw character of a country that has held onto its past with remarkable determination, where Norse ruins in the Orkney Islands stand alongside Georgian streets in Edinburgh and whisky-soaked shores on the Isle of Islay. Hit that subscribe button — it's completely free and really motivates me to create more content: https://www.youtube.com/@PathfindersTravel-YT?sub_confirmation=1 This Scotland highlands documentary moves north through some of the most dramatic terrain in Europe. Edinburgh opens the journey with its medieval Old Town and volcanic skyline, while Glasgow reveals a city of muscular architecture and sharp cultural energy. Stirling anchors the heart of Scotland with its castle perched above the battlefield plains of the Wars of Independence. Falkirk delivers the extraordinary Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel, engineering feats set against open farmland. Loch Lomond stretches across the southern highlands with glassy water and wooded banks, and Glencoe carves through the landscape with a severity that no photograph fully prepares you for. The Scotland travel guide continues along the west coast and across the inner islands. Fort William sits beneath Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak, and Glenfinnan holds the viaduct made iconic by the Hogwarts Express. The Isle of Mull offers white sand beaches and golden eagles, while the Isle of Skye delivers the geological drama of the Quiraing and the Fairy Pools. Eilean Donan Castle sits at a loch junction in the northwest, and Loch Ness stretches south through the Great Glen. In the far north, Inverness, Ullapool, the Isle of Harris, and the Isle of Lewis carry the quiet authority of places that have changed very little over centuries. The Orkney Islands close the journey with Neolithic sites older than the pyramids. Aberdeen, Dunnottar Castle, Dundee, St. Andrews, Bass Rock, Melrose Abbey, the Isle of Arran, and Cairngorms National Park each earn their place in this Scotland documentary as landscapes that demand more than a passing glance. 📍 Chapters: 00:00 Welcome to Scotland 02:32 Orkney Islands 05:27 Aberdeen 08:09 Dunnottar Castle 11:02 Dundee 13:58 St. Andrews 16:52 Bass Rock 19:46 Melrose Abbey 22:35 Isle of Arran 25:24 Isle of Islay 28:16 Glasgow 31:39 Edinburgh 35:58 Falkirk 39:09 Loch Lomond 41:55 Stirling 45:11 Isle of Mull 48:48 Glencoe 51:52 Fort William 54:24 Glenfinnan 57:04 Cairngorms National Park 59:52 Isle of Skye 63:26 Isle of Skye (Additional Areas) 66:45 Eilean Donan Castle 69:44 Loch Ness 72:32 Portree 75:10 Inverness 77:47 Ullapool 80:57 Isle of Harris 83:37 Isle of Lewis 🎬 Watch Next: • Wonders of Scotland | The Most Amazing Places in Scotland | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/QamFK45TntQ • Wonders of Scandinavia | Scandinavia's Hidden Paradises | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/knbAHxsVOMk • Wonders of Denmark | Best Places to Visit in Denmark | Travel Documentary 4K: https://youtu.be/1oa1hi_Ib4g 🌍 https://pathfinders-travel.com #PathfindersTravel #Scotland #ScotlandHighlands #TravelDocumentary

I Tried Making Pelau with Pearl Barley and Can't Stop Eating It
What set out as an experiment to prove that Pearl Barley can be used to make our national dish (that's pelau, in case you didn't know) actually turned out to be an "aha" moment. Instead of it being "pelau" or "pearl-au", what we actually made was a RISOTTO. We knew the flavour of the pelau will hit all the right notes because we started with a good foundation - browning the sugar until it became frothy with swirls of dark and light brown caramel, adding well seasoned chicken, all of the usual aromatics - garlic, ginger, thyme, chives etc, butter of course for that extra lux and bay leaf. The barley was rinsed to remove excess starch and cooked briefly with the chicken before adding the peas and the coconut milk, which is a MUST when making pelau. We were hoping for a medium pelau - not too wet, not too dry—but what we got was a surprise. Imagine sinking your teeth into your first spoonful (or forkful, if you are so inclined) but being greeted with a creaminess and smoothness that not even a wet pelau could achieve. That's what we didn't bargain for: the barley took on a smooth, creamy consistency that tricked our brains into thinking we were eating a risotto but the flavour was pelau...like WHAT?! Each bite got better and better because no one has ever described pelau as creamy, but this one was, and it was addictive. When doing a cooking experiment, the are three possible outcomes - whether the result meets, exceeds, or fails to meet expectations. Similar to scientific experiments, cooking experiments involve creating a hypothesis and observing the results. Failure: The dish failed to meet expectations—for example, being burnt, undercooked, having a poor texture or simply not working. Success/Validation: The dish turned out as expected—which, at the time was a given, at least to us. Discovery/Unexpected Result: The dish differs from expected but remains usable or enjoyable. In our case, we were on a road to Discovery and didn't realize it because the dish was not just usable or enjoyable, but groundbreaking. We will never look at barley the same again and neither pelau LOL! #barley #pelau #barleyrecipe ▼Chicken Pelau Recipe: https://eatahfoodtt.com/mmhmm/chicken-pelau/ ▼Follow Us On Twitter For Updates: https://www.twitter.com/eatahfood ▼Follow Us On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eatahfoodtt Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsAljuMe2_TZgFQYq8OqEEA/join
