The locals in Zanzibar say that the island has many mysteries to discover. So, let’s dive in to explore what Zanzibar has to offer for those who want to visit this amazing Island. Zanzibar boasts one of the richest and most diverse culinary scenes in all of Africa which is shaped by centuries of trading and migration. It has seen an influx of people from these countries. Most of the architectural features were built by immigrants. In ancient times, the island was known for the spice business and many Arabian merchants visited the Island during these times bringing Islam to the Island. The Portuguese also visited the Island and controlled the Indian Ocean which was later replaced by the British. Zanzibar now offers many different cultural experiences which are all added up in the beautiful architecture of Stone Town. Zanzibar is also home to several rare species.
