Forests of the Planet | The Wild Heart of the Earth | 4K Documentary
Sixty years ago, we saw our planet whole for the very first time. It was blue, white, ochre. But above all, it was green.
This documentary is a journey through eight forests that represent eight different ways of living in the world. From the Amazon, the largest tropical forest on the planet, to the Siberian Taiga, the most extensive of them all.
We explore Daintree in Australia, the oldest rainforest on Earth, untouched for over 180 million years. We cross Borneo and its orangutans, Madagascar and its lemurs, the alien island of Socotra with its dragon's blood trees. We reach the giant Sequoias of California and the Tongass, in Alaska, where the sea feeds the forest through the salmon.
A story of how nature, island after island, continent after continent, has invented different solutions to a single challenge: to live, to endure, to begin again.
