The Brooklyn Tabernacle

God has brought the Brooklyn Tabernacle from a handful of members in a small rundown building in a difficult area to a congregation of more than ten thousand weekly attendees. Pastor Cymbala and his wife, Carol, who directs the popular Grammy Award–winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, have been used by the Lord not only to preach the gospel in the inner city of New York but also to see new churches grow out of the congregation across New York as well as domestically and internationally. The ministry of the church has from the outset reached out to the cross-cultural melting pot of New York City. It is comprised of men, women, and children of all ethnic and national origins. Central to the growth and expansion of the church, however, has been the continual emphasis on prayer, from the Tuesday night prayer meeting that is attended by thousands to the prayer band, made up of members of the church devoted to boldly calling on the Lord for needs from around the world.

God Is Speaking | Pastor Jim Cymbala | Tuesday Prayer Meeting | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
We all need a Samuel experience. Remember Samuel from the Bible? When God called him as a young child, Samuel said, “Speak, Lord.” All Israel’s history was changed because a little boy received a word from the Lord. Let’s pray to have open hearts to whatever God wants us to hear! Our lives can be radically changed by a few powerful words if they’re from the Lord. He’s speaking today. Are we listening? Daily Devotional | Planting Seeds of Joy | Psalm 126 | Pastor Jim Cymbala
Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 126. In this devotional, Pastor Cymbala challenges us to tell others about Jesus. The Bible calls this “sowing seeds”—like gardeners who plant seeds in the ground, we drop spiritual seeds when we share the message of salvation. Sometimes it’s painful not to see instant fruit in the lives of those we talk to—but the psalmist says that there is a joyful harvest for those who sow with tears! We must pray for others and continue planting those seeds. Don’t miss a single daily devotional with Pastor Cymbala! Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 125. Have you heard the phrase “mountain-moving faith”? Since we have God Almighty on our side, we can have faith without fear! The famous missionary David Livingstone was a great example of this strong faith—after surviving a lion attack, he lived fearlessly for God! The Lord said He will protect us, so we can live in that promise. Don’t miss a single daily devotional with Pastor Cymbala! We are guaranteed hardships in our Christian lives. Friends will hurt and betray us—it happened to Jesus and Paul! We need to have spiritual maturity during trials. Obstacles in life don't mean that God has abandoned us. He always walks through the hard times with us, and He provides earthly friends to support us too. Thank the Lord for His faithfulness and for godly friends! See the Spirit Move | Pastor Jim Cymbala | Tuesday Prayer Meeting | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
We Christians often hear that the Holy Spirit lives inside of us, but He doesn’t want to just stay there! If we submit to Him, the Holy Spirit manifests Himself through our words and actions so that others can see Jesus in us. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work this way, we reflect the power of a living God. Let’s pray for the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in our lives. He will do things beyond our imaginations! Daily Devotional | The Lord Seeks Us | Psalm 119:169–176 | Pastor Jim Cymbala
Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 119:169–176. In this devotional, Pastor Cymbala reads one of his favorite Bible verses. Even though it doesn’t seem to make sense to end a chapter with “I have strayed. . . . Seek your servant,” with these words the psalmist gives us a beautiful picture of God’s goodness. Even the strongest Christians are susceptible to straying—but Jesus always seeks us and carries us through our troubles. May God bring us out of our bad situations and help us to live for Him every day. Don’t miss a single daily devotional with Pastor Cymbala! Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 119:161–168. How much more authentic would our spiritual lives be if we worshiped more than every once in a while? Only praising the Lord on Sundays will lead to a spirit of fakeness, and the world has enough of that already. Let’s be true worshipers of God and thank Him often for all He's given us!
