Caribbean Journey
Jamaica New MEGA CITY Is Taking Over Dubai! No One Saw This Coming…
On April 8, 2026, a laboratory in Houston, Texas returned results from 42 seabed sediment cores collected from the waters south of Jamaica. The findings confirmed thermogenic hydrocarbons butane and pentane in select samples. United Oil and Gas, the London-listed company holding a 100% working interest in the Walton-Morant Licence, described the results as "an established body of evidence for an active petroleum system" offshore Jamaica. The licence area covers 22,400 square kilometers and carries an estimated 7 billion barrels of prospective resources.
The world barely noticed.
This video is the full story not just the oil discovery, but the five-pillar economic transformation Jamaica had already built before the lab results arrived. Tourism at record highs. Remittances exceeding $3.49 billion annually. A 60,000-person outsourcing industry generating over $1 billion per year. Bauxite geology now carrying strategic relevance to US defence supply chains. A debt-to-GDP ratio at its lowest point in 30 years. And a country that mobilized $1.5 billion in disaster financing within hours of a Category 5 hurricane not because it got lucky, but because it built the systems to do exactly that.
The oil did not make Jamaica. Jamaica made itself. The oil just showed up at the moment the foundations were already solid enough to hold it.
We also examine the Guyana precedent in detail what happened when a similarly positioned Caribbean frontier basin confirmed commercial reserves in 2015, went to first production in 2019, and posted 62.3% GDP growth in 2022, the highest real GDP growth rate in the world that year. The Walton-Morant Licence and Guyana's Stabroek Block are comparable in scale, comparable in geology, and comparable in the decades of underexploration that preceded the current moment.
The differences matter too, and we cover all of them including the fact that United Oil and Gas had approximately $800,000 in cash at its most recent audit, zero revenue, and auditors who formally flagged material uncertainty about the company's viability unless it secures a major oil company farm-out partner within 12 months. Nothing about this story is guaranteed. The well has not been drilled. The partner has not been named. The oil has not been confirmed at commercial volumes.
What has been confirmed is what Jamaica already built and that part isn't going anywhere.
