Why The Ultra Rich Are Moving to Milan
Milan’s hosting of the Winter Olympics comes as the city is emerging as a new hub for global wealth. Originally driven by Italy’s favorable flat-tax regime, the city is now benefiting from stability, expanding financial activity and a cosmopolitan lifestyle that it hopes can rival London and Paris. Yet rising property prices and mounting cost-of-living concerns highlight the challenges that come with rapid growth. The real test for Milan may be finding a balance between prosperity and authenticity. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? Could Trump's Voter ID Threat Be Implemented Before Election Day?
Bloomberg’s Megan Scully states there is no evidence of massive voter fraud when discussing President Trump threatening an executive order on Voter ID in time for the 2026 Midterm Elections. She mentions that a separate legislation on voter ID will not pass in the Senate, and if the President signs an executive order requiring voter ID, the order will face massive court challenges delaying the action well beyond this year’s elections. Deadliest Journeys - Bolivia: The Road Of Death
00:00 There are two worlds in Bolivia. That of the Altiplano, the highlands, perched at an altitude of more than 4000 meters. And that of the Amazon basin, which tops out at a few hundred meters above sea level. Between the two, there is a transition region, made of vertiginous precipices and trails that descend the Andean Cordillera in a few tens of kilometers. . It is the region of the Yungas, a country where the horizontal does not exist. In these valleys winds a road, the only means of communication between La Paz, the administrative capital of the country, perched on the Altiplano, and the riches of the Amazon basin. The Bolivians nicknamed it "el camino de la muerte", the road to death. Highest point: the La Cumbre pass, 4700 meters, at the exit of La Paz. 78 kilometers further, we are barely 900 meters. Along this road of the impossible, we follow the story of a community of cocaleros, coca growers clinging to the slopes of the mountain. To carry their loads to the road, they stretched makeshift cables made of simple iron wires across the valley. An infernal zip line, nearly 400 meters long, 200 meters above the ground. We also share the daily life of a vachero, a truck driver who transports cows from the Amazon basin to La Paz, the highest metropolis in the world. 25 hours of journey on the road to death, done without stopping. Because you have to go very quickly: if a cow dies, the driver pays. 4:30 Villagers found an outstanding way to travel faster 9:00 Sky cables synonym of death 20:24 A 1000000 km truck that could break at any time 32:09 One slip on the 3m beam and it's a 500m Drop 43:19 Coca, ingredient in strong medicin getting sold in daylight

Deadliest journeys - Bangladesh : Survive in chaos
00:00 Bangladesh, the most populous country on the planet, there is a saying that the cheapest thing is life. From the first images of the film, the term overpopulation takes on a concrete and sadly inhuman dimension. for example, who could imagine that a man willingly dives almost naked into the sewers of a capital of 15 million people in the midst of human excrement to fetch gold? This is the only job Gazi can do. Wounds and chemicals eat away at him. He knows he is condemned in the short term. But this is the only way he has found to feed his family and especially to allow his children to escape their destiny of misery. To cope with the absurdity of a hellish daily life, many rely on religion. Each year in Bangladesh takes place one of the world's largest Muslim pilgrimages. For the event nearly 5 million pilgrims flocked from all over the country. Buses, boats and trains are stormed. Passengers are everywhere on the roofs, on the axles, hanging from the windows. An almost unmanageable crowd overflow in a country with obsolete infrastructure. At the sight of these barely believable images, one wonders if it is faith or self-sacrifice that allows Bangladeshis to thwart the traps of overpopulation and thus keep smiling. 12:14 Parkour is a useful skill in these trains 24:26 Diving into excrement to find gold 37:57 Trains are assulted as soon as they arrive 43:00 Tamed animals help fishing Director: David Geoffrion, Daniel Lainé

Oil Companies in ‘Active’ Talks Over Recouping Venezuela Losses
Heidi Crebo-Rediker, Senior Fellow for Geoeconomics at the Council on Foreign Relations, discusses how the US has put itself in the middle of China's Venezuela oil trade. ConocoPhillips and other energy companies that lost billions of dollars after Venezuela nationalized its oil industry decades ago are in talks with acting Venezuela President Delcy Rodríguez over recouping some ground, according to US Energy Secretary Chris Wright.  “They are in active discussions with ConocoPhillips — the people that lost assets in the before, are all in active dialogs right now,” Wright said Thursday in an interview on Bloomberg Television. “What’s the right way forward? How to get to recompense for that money they’re owed and hopefully entice them to come back into the country and grow production?” Wright, the most senior US official to visit to Venezuela since the capture of former President Nicolás Maduro, spoke during a tour of Venezuela’s Orinoco oil belt, following a meeting with Rodríguez where he said the two discussed the issue. “She has regret about the past and about the things that happened there,” Wright said, adding repayment could help entice reluctant US oil producers to help in President Donald Trump’s quest to revitalize Venezuela’s beleaguered oil sector.  Two decades ago, Exxon Mobil Corp. and ConocoPhillips had their assets nationalized by Maduro’s predecessor, Hugo Chávez, costing the companies billions.  ConocoPhillips Chief Executive Officer Ryan Lance has said his top priority in Venezuela is recouping billions his company is owed. Despite roughly $10 billion in favorable judgments from international arbitrators holding Venezuela liable for the seizures, the Houston oil giant’s efforts to recover all it’s owed have been frustrated. So far the company has only been able to recovery about $1 billion. ConocoPhillips declined to comment on Wright’s comments from Thursday. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? Aluminum Drops as Trump Moves to Narrow Levies on Metal Products
Mike McGlone, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Commodity Strategist, discusses gold's latest moves and the Trump Administration's plan to narrow levies on metal products. Aluminum fell along with other metals as traders reacted to a possible reduction in the scope of US import tariffs on some aluminum and steel products. Prices fell as much as 2.7% on the London Metal Exchange, extending initial losses after the Financial Times reported that President Donald Trump is planning to roll back some levies on concerns the duties are hurting consumers. The White House has communicated to companies that adjustments to levies on derivative metal products are in the works, Bloomberg reported later. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent downplayed any rollback.  Trump doubled import tariffs on commodity-grade steel and aluminum to 50% in June, and later expanded them to cover derivative products including cans, cutlery and car parts. The package of levies has disrupted the global market, reducing shipments to the US and raising prices ahead of key midterm elections. Navigating the tariffs on derivative goods has become an arduous task for companies, as they seek to identify the percentage of the materials in goods they sourced from overseas. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer acknowledged two months ago that “there’s some complexity” with the levies, and had discussed the difficulties with Customs and Border Protection.  Aluminum traded 2.3% lower at $3,030.00 a ton on the LME as of 1:03 p.m. local time, with all other metals on the bourse also trading lower as US stock futures edged lower, following a broad cross-asset selloff on Thursday. Tin led the decline with a 3.8% drop, while copper fell 0.9% after readily available inventories tracked by the LME rose by the most since July. That followed a drop of more than 2% on Thursday that was spurred by a broad selloff across risk assets. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video?
