Tanzania’s three-time Olympian Magdalena Moshi is a woman on a mission to end culture-induced silence around reproductive health issues in her country and parts of Africa where it is a taboo to talk about certain conditions. It follows an emergency surgery she underwent resulting in nearly four kilograms of uterine fibroids removed from her body. It was only after the surgery she learned the condition runs in her family but because it is a taboo subject, she was never told about it. She's confronted her father about keeping it secret. Having disabilities in a country where help isn’t easily available, can be terribly difficult. But 18-year-old Ahmed Salami always dreamed of stardom. He was born with autism, cerebral palsy and ADHD. He learnt to speak at the age of six and struggled with a stammer. Kenya’s long time opposition leader Raila Odinga says he is confident of a favourable ruling by the country’s constitutional court regarding a petition seeking to invalidate the declaration of his opponent William Ruto as President elect. Mr. Odinga says the court’s judgement will have wider implications on democracy across Africa because it will set precedence for future disputes. Raila Odinga has filed a petition to the Supreme Court of Kenya, contesting the presidential results announced by the electoral commission, IEBC last week. The electoral commission said Mr Ruto won with 50.49 per cent of the votes cast against Mr Odinga's 48.85 per cent. Mr Odinga’s lead counsel, Paul Mwangi, says they are confident they have a solid case and can prove that there was election fraud. Raila Odinga addressed the public for the first time since the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission [IEBC] announced the presidential results. He has described the results as 'null and void'. He argued that the chairman of the electoral commission had no legal authority to announce the results that majority of commissioners had rejected. In a separate meeting, four out of the seven IEBC commissioners said the final results were not analysed and processed by everyone in the commission which is why they disagreed with the final results announced by the body's chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
