Where to Invest After $12 Trillion Market Cap Wipeout
Volatility from the Iran conflict has resulted in the single largest month of value destruction on record, with $12 trillion in market cap erased across global benchmarks, Bloomberg's China Show reports. Dina Ting, Head of Global Index Portfolio Management at Franklin Templeton, says the key to navigating this "manic" period is diversification. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? 30 - Let It Go (Forgiveness) | Pastor Jim Cymbala | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. – Micah 7:18 “God exhibits his grace when he gives you something that you don’t deserve; and he shows mercy when he does not give you what you do deserve. The word ‘mercy’ speaks of pity and compassion for someone who is suffering, even if it is their own fault. The Bible tells us that God delights in showing mercy. In fact, the salvation he offers through Jesus Christ is based on his mercy. For God so loved the world—i.e. in his mercy, he so pitied the world—that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). The Bible tells us to be imitators of God. We can’t imitate his attributes of being all-powerful or all-knowing or ever-present. But we can imitate his character; and part of his character is showing mercy. We need to imitate God’s mercy all the time; because, in the natural, we get offended by people and want to retaliate. But Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy’ (Matthew 5:7). He also said that the same measure we use for others will be used for us. Jesus illustrated these principles through the parable of a king’s servant who owed the king a vast sum of money. When payment was required of him, he pleaded for mercy, and the king granted it to him. But that servant then went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a pittance by comparison; and when his fellow servant begged for a little more time to pay it back, the king’s servant had him put in jail. The parable ends with the unmerciful servant being thrown in prison until he could pay the whole sum he owed. The person who did not show mercy in the parable ended up hurting themselves, just as we hurt ourselves when we don’t forgive and show mercy to others. Some of us have negative nervous, emotional, and physical manifestations, because we are holding on to things. Let’s let it go. Let’s be imitators of God. Let’s be people who delight in mercy.” – Pastor Cymbala Define mercy. How did God show his mercy to the world? Why do we need to imitate God, who delights in mercy? Read Matthew 18:21-35 on the parable of the unforgiving servant and explain the spiritual lesson it teaches. Think of an offense that you need to let go of today. ________________________________________________________________________ Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfmIDNINOUtmEzL4Hqgstxg?sub_confirmation=1 Stay Connected: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/ https://www.facebook.com/TheBrooklynTabernacle/ https://twitter.com/jimcymbala https://www.instagram.com/thebrooklyntabernacle/ Give: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/giving Request prayer: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/prayer #BrooklynTabernacle #JimCymbala #BrooklynTab

Racism for Sale - BBC Africa Eye Documentary
In February 2020, a shocking video began to circulate on Chinese social media. A group of African children are being instructed, by a voice off-camera, to chant phrases in Chinese. The kids repeat the words with smiles and enthusiasm — but they don’t understand that what they’re being told to say is “I am a black monster and my IQ is low.” The clip ignited outrage in China and beyond. But no-one ever answered the crucial questions: Why was this filmed? Where was it shot? Who made it? 28 - Empty yet Full (Remaining in Christ) | Pastor Jim Cymbala | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 5:3 “In the first sermon Jesus preached, he said that the best candidates to receive all that God has for his children are those who are poor in spirit. This is counterintuitive, since our society considers that it is the rich and not the poor who are to be envied. Consider also that the word for ‘poor’ in the original Greek text means not having anything at all. This is a deep principle of spiritual life as a Christian; because if you have nothing, then you have to look to God for everything. And God will fulfill every good desire he has for you. This principle is capped off in the parable of the vine and the branches. Jesus said, ‘I am the vine, and you are the branches. You have to remain in me, or you can do nothing.’ A branch has to remain connected to the main stalk of the plant and empty of debris and other extraneous matter in order to have flowing through it the life-giving sap of the plant that will enable it to grow and bear fruit. In the same way, the believer has to remain in Christ, empty of every hindrance and their own plans and desires, in order to have flowing through them the Spirit’s life-giving power and blessings from above. That is the joy of being an empty vessel for God to fill with his peace and joy and the abundant life he has promised to every born-again Christian.” – Pastor Cymbala According to Jesus, who are the best candidates to receive all that God has for his children? Why is this counterintuitive? What does the word for “poor” mean in the original Greek text of the verse? Why is this significant? What is the blessing of being poor in spirit? Read the parable of the vine and the branches in John 15:1-8 and describe in your own words the spiritual lesson that it provides for us. Explain how you are able to be empty yet full as a Christian. ________________________________________________________________________ Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfmIDNINOUtmEzL4Hqgstxg?sub_confirmation=1 Stay Connected: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/ https://www.facebook.com/TheBrooklynTabernacle/ https://twitter.com/jimcymbala https://www.instagram.com/thebrooklyntabernacle/ Give: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/giving Request prayer: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/prayer #BrooklynTabernacle #JimCymbala #BrooklynTab

[Jesus] said to them…‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ – Acts 1:8 “One of the main reasons why the Holy Spirit was sent to earth was to give power for ministry to those who are followers of Jesus Christ. As our Lord was about to ascend back to heaven after having risen from the dead, he told his disciples that they would receive power from on high to be his witnesses everywhere they went. When the promised Holy Spirit came, the church was born; and fishermen and tax collectors who had never been to seminary, who had no PhDs or MDivs, turned the world upside down. What made the difference? It wasn’t teaching; the disciples had the best teacher when Jesus was on earth, yet they failed. One denied him and all of them fled when he was arrested. What made the difference was that they were baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit; and with that filling came power. Since the beginning, God’s plan has been that the church would be built by believers in Christ sharing the good news of Jesus with the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in them.” – Pastor Cymbala What is one of the main reasons why the Holy Spirit was sent to earth? What did Jesus say would happen when the Holy Spirit came on his followers? What was the difference in the disciples once they were baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit? What is God’s plan for the growth of the church of Jesus Christ? How will people in your sphere of influence know that Jesus is alive? ________________________________________________________________________ Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfmIDNINOUtmEzL4Hqgstxg?sub_confirmation=1 Stay Connected: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/ https://www.facebook.com/TheBrooklynTabernacle/ https://twitter.com/jimcymbala https://www.instagram.com/thebrooklyntabernacle/ Give: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/giving Request prayer: https://www.brooklyntabernacle.org/prayer #BrooklynTabernacle #JimCymbala #BrooklynTab

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” –John 3:16 “This is Christianity 101: God loves you, and God loves me… unconditionally. And he sent his one and only Son to earth to die on a cross as a substitute for us. Jesus was innocent, and yet he hung on the cross to be punished for our sins, so that we wouldn’t have to pay the penalty for our disobedience. Instead we would have all our sins washed away by the blood that he shed and have the hope that we could one day go to be with him in heaven. This salvation can’t be earned; God offers it to us as a gift.” – Pastor Cymbala Why did God send his Son to this earth? What was humanity’s sin problem? Why did Jesus have to die on a cross? What is the significance of the blood that Jesus shed? Have you accepted God’s gift of salvation? “Jesus replied… ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God, unless they are born again.’” – John 3:3 “When we repent of our sins and put our faith in Christ, we accept God’s gift of salvation. This means that the sins we have committed have been washed away through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. That settles our past. But how about today? How about the future? We’re still stuck with our weaknesses and the effects of our environment and our upbringing. That’s why Jesus said that we must be born again. In other words, as Christians, we have a double birth. We have a physical birth, of course; but in order to enter the kingdom of heaven and enjoy what God has for us, we must also be born from above. We have to get a new nature, a new heart, a new spirit, and a new way to live. This happens when the Holy Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead comes to live in us…” – Pastor Cymbala What does it mean to be born again? Why do some Christians live in defeat? Have you ever tried to live out your life in your own strength? If so, what was the result? Discuss the difference between religion and a having a relationship with God.
