The National Water Commission (NWC) has activated the 600mm Ferry pipeline, replacing the outdated 18-inch system to improve water supply for communities such as Washington Gardens, Molynes Road, and Olympic Way. This upgrade, along with the 900mm pipeline serving Downtown Kingston, ensures more reliable water distribution and resilience during dry periods, benefiting both residential and commercial customers. At the same time, Ferry, Kingston, is emerging as a hub for innovation and economic growth. Nestlé Jamaica invested US$12 million to develop a state-of-the-art distribution complex powered by solar energy, meeting 30% of its energy needs. ATL Automotive injected US$3 million into a bond store and inspection center to streamline vehicle delivery processes, while Tropical Battery spent $60 million building a solar-powered headquarters, reducing energy costs by $500,000 per month.
