US President Donald Trump said he would impose "very severe consequences" if Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t agree to a ceasefire agreement later this week. He also said he hoped to use the meeting on Friday to set up a "quick second meeting" with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy as allies pressed him to push for such a summit. On Wednesday, Zelenskiy and other European leaders held a call with Trump, during which the US president assured them he wouldn’t negotiate territories with Putin. President Donald Trump says he had a very good call with European leaders ahead of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump hopes to have a meeting with Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy soon after his trip to Alaska. “Now there may be no second meeting, because if I feel that it’s not appropriate to have it, because I didn’t get the answers that we have to have, then we’re not going to have a second meeting,” Trump said.
