US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell summoned Wall Street leaders to give them an urgent warning: an artificial intelligence tool from Anthropic PBC marks the beginning of a new era of cybersecurity.  The April 7 meeting in Washington was focused on Mythos, a new AI model that Anthropic says is so good at finding vulnerabilities in software and computer systems that it can only be released to a limited number of carefully-chosen parties. Mega Manufacturing: Pierce - Fire Truck Manufacturer | 4K Engineering Documentary What is created here is intended to save lives for once: Pierce Manufacturing: the world's largest manufacturer of fire trucks. It is the largest manufacturer of fire trucks in the world: Pierce Manufacturing in Wisconsin, USA. 1400 trucks are being built here every year – and each truck is one of a kind. Customers determine every detail from the first sketch on the 3D model to the finished truck. More than 13,000 individual components - most of them laboriously crafted by hand - are turned into an absolutely individual fire-fighting vehicle. Even the lettering and coats of arms so popular in North America are the result of Pierce's manual work with brushes and genuine gold leaf. All this is only possible with a lot of experience. The three thousand employees have on average twelve years of professional experience. After all, not just any product is manufactured here, but in case of emergencies their quality is a matter of life and death. The demands placed on a fire -fighting truck are correspondingly high: heavy as a truck, it must nevertheless be extremely manoeuvrable and fast. Take a mega-frame, a cab equipped with lots of high-tech, a high-performance water pump and a gigantic ladder: We accompany the production of a popular Enforcer fire truck from the very first step - the construction of the chassis - to the final acceptance by the customer. One of the highlights is the assembly of the TAK4 wheel axle. Developed in the military sector, it enables cornering at top speed without tipping over. After approximately three months of production, the grand finale is the installation of a gigantic 33-meter turntable ladder on the roof of the Enforcer. A nerve-wracking task for the workers. Using two crane winches, they have to install the component, which weighs tons, with millimetre precision. No cable must be damaged. The final inspection shows whether the installation was successful. Since the invasion of Ukraine and European sanctions, the Russian oligarchs have become pariahs. By attacking their assets in Europe and freezing their bank accounts, the EU convinced that this pressure on the oligarchs will, in turn, put pressure on Vladimir Putin to back down. But during the same period, about fifteen Oligarchs have died under strange circumstances. Do they really have the power to influence the Russian President? Or are they just pawns of his ambition? For several months we investigated these oligarchs close to the Kremlin. To date, more than 1,200 people have been placed under EU sanctions and assets amounting to 17 billion euros frozen. But getting hold of what they really own is often complicated. Most of their assets are hidden in a mirage of shell companies. On the French Riviera, Russian oligarchs have long reigned. Eric’s company used to provide security for many of the villas. His contracts ended with the invasion with the oligarchs claiming they could no longer pay him but he regularly sees other companies gurading the villas. He suspects they are being paid through obscure channels that circumvent European sanctions. Many Oligarchs, like arms dealer Igor Kesaev, have already bought EU nationality giving them a range of rights. He was able to use his Cypriot nationality to buy a strategic island in Finland which threatens the security of the country. But since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis, a wave of strange ‘suicides’ among oligarchs is provoking many questions. Sergey Protosenya. BBC Africa Eye crosses continents to track down ‘Fox’, the alleged mastermind of an international drug trafficking operation. This drug trafficking route is named after the 10th parallel North, the circle of latitude which charts the shortest sea-faring route across the Atlantic from South America to Africa. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, at least fifty tonnes of cocaine crosses West Africa every year with most arriving via Highway 10, but around 30% of the drugs are sold during transit. As a result, Cape Verde has become known as a ‘motorway service station’ for traffickers, with Europe’s 11 billion dollar cocaine market often the final destination. Ga DaLomba, himself a recovering cocaine addict, meets dealers and law enforcement officers in Cape Verde who have all witnessed a massive influx of cocaine, with the number of addicts also increasing. Ga then searches for an alleged drug trafficker, a British man known as ‘Fox’, who Brazilian police believe used ‘Highway 10’ to transport one tonne of cocaine...and is yet to face justice.
