Inside Byron Allen's INSANE Media Empire… He OWNS The Weather Channel
Almost nobody can tell you his name. But one man owns the network that as many as 30 million Americans turn to the moment a hurricane forms in the Atlantic — The Weather Channel — bought outright for a reported $300 million. He owns an 11,000-square-foot Malibu cliff estate paid for in $100 million cash, a $91 million compound on Aspen's "Billionaire Mountain," and the 11:35 late-night slot on CBS that David Letterman once owned. Byron Allen started by sneaking onto an empty Burbank sound stage as a boy to sit behind Johnny Carson's desk. Forty years later he runs Allen Media Group, controls The Weather Channel, a 52% stake in BuzzFeed, and a slice of Starz — and the comedians he came up with chased the next laugh while he quietly bought the deed under the room. This is the ownership story of the most successful media owner most people have never heard of — from a Detroit kid on the NBC lot to a company once valued north of $4.5 billion. 📘 Get THE EMPIRE PLAYBOOK — the 8 moves that separate the rich from the wealthy: https://payhip.com/b/QcSx8 The same wealth-building moves behind the empires on this channel, rebuilt into a system you can start this week, from exactly where you are. 31 pages. Inside this video: Why he bought The Weather Channel — the CABLE network, NOT Weather.com — for ~$300M, and why that one distinction is the whole point The $100M Malibu cliff estate he paid for in CASH — no mortgage, no bank Entertainment Studios → Allen Media Group: the company he ran off his own dining table that grew to reach nearly 300 million subscribers The 2009 move nobody copied — launching SIX 24-hour HD networks at once (Pets.TV, Cars.TV, Recipe.TV) to build a library, not chase a hit The $91.3M Aspen compound on the ridge locals call "Billionaire Mountain" The 52% BuzzFeed takeover and the 11% Starz stake — both closed in 2026 How he took CBS's 11:35 late-night slot after Colbert was canceled — by BUYING the airtime and selling the ads himself The $10 BILLION McDonald's lawsuit that didn't just win a check — it rewired an entire category of ad spending Why his net worth is genuinely debated — from ~$735M to ~$1B — and what that debate completely misses Why selling 10 TV stations for $171M in 2026 was a strength, not a decline We go deep on the wealth, power, and legacy of the Black community worldwide. We Found Jamaica's 'Baby Spring' in Hamwalk
#Jamaica #spring #hiddenjamaica The Baby Spring: Jamaica's Hidden Fertility River in St. Catherine Deep in rural St. Catherine, Jamaica, a small river head has been quietly protected by residents for generations. Locals call it the Baby Spring — a natural spring believed to help women who are struggling to conceive. This journey through St. Catherine took us to Pear Tree Grove, John Crow Spring, and the small community of Hamwalk, where we found this river head and spoke to the residents who've passed down its story for generations. The Baby Spring isn't documented in any official record. It exists the way most of Jamaica's hidden history does — passed down by word of mouth, protected by the people who live closest to it, and largely unknown outside the communities of rural St. Catherine. Pear Tree Grove and John Crow Spring sit tucked into the hills of St. Catherine, connected by the same rivers and streams that run through Hamwalk. These communities hold onto traditions and beliefs that rarely make it into Jamaica's written history — stories about the land, the water, and the people who depend on both. This is part of an ongoing series exploring Jamaica's hidden history — the communities, landmarks, and stories that don't make it into textbooks but live on in the people who call these places home. 📍 Pear Tree Grove, St. Catherine 📍 John Crow Spring, St. Catherine 📍 Hamwalk, St. Catherine 💧 The Baby Spring — Jamaica's Fertility River Legend A special thank you to Ricardo for guiding us through these communities once again. Contact me at Cheetyx@gmail.com or 1876 450 9733. Thanks for your support Https://PayPal.me/elitejamm Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Barbados, a journey made possible through the kindness and generosity of someone I'll always be grateful to. During my time there, I set out with one goal: to document the island's remarkable history. In total, I filmed over 22 historic sites across Barbados, uncovering stories that deserve to be remembered. In this episode, I visit Clifton Hall Great House, one of Barbados' most historic estates. What I expected to be a simple tour quickly became one of the most fascinating historical experiences I've ever had. The owner generously welcomed me into the house, shared the estate's history, and introduced me to the extraordinary story of Ferdinando Paleologus, believed to have been a descendant of the last ruling dynasty of the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire. During our conversation, I learned about Roman history, the Byzantine Empire, theology, religion, and the remarkable journey of a family whose story stretches from the fall of Constantinople to the Caribbean. I was even shown a rare book about the Paleologus family, making this a truly unforgettable experience. Please watch this video until the very end. The final section, where we visit the grave of Ferdinando Paleologus, brings everything together and reveals why this story is so historically significant. It's a chapter of Caribbean history that very few people know. If you enjoy videos that uncover forgotten history, hidden stories, and remarkable places, please consider subscribing, leaving a like, and sharing this documentary with others. Thank you for watching and for supporting the preservation of Caribbean history. #Barbados #History #ByzantineEmpire #RomanEmpire #FerdinandoPaleologus #CliftonHall #CaribbeanHistory #WorldHistory #Documentary #HistoricPlaces #BarbadosHistory #Travel #Heritage #EliteJamaica #HiddenHistory

13 Places in Jamaica You Should NEVER Visit Alone
Jamaica has a mountainside that came down in 1692 and buried a plantation with at least 19 people on it, a safari river where a body was found with apparent crocodile bites in 2024, and a village where 40 people drowned in their beds in a single night in 1937. The island keeps the longest written record of its dead in the Caribbean. Every one of them has a body count. In this video, we explore: → A 300-year-old silk-cotton tree that fell across a main highway one Monday evening and blocked it for over a day. → A cave the authorities closed to the public in 2014, named for two sisters who are said to have jumped into its black water. → A clear blue swimming river in Westmoreland that gave back the body of a man who went missing in 2023. → A mountain pass where the trucks lose their brakes, and a 2024 crash that caught fire and killed two drivers. → A famous limestone waterfall where a boy drowned and climbers have come off the terraces with broken bones. → A trackless interior of green stone cones where colonial soldiers were cut down and modern hikers still get lost. → A Maroon mountain stronghold the army destroyed in the 1730s, high in the Blue Mountains. → A man-made waterfall with no rails and no lifeguards where a woman drowned diving from the top in 2017. → A hill of hairpin bends that families have marked with roadside crosses after years of fatal crashes. → A sunset cliff in Negril where the bars sell the jump, and a 2014 dive ended on the rocks below. → A Portland river that rose at one in the morning in 1937 and drowned forty villagers in their sleep. → A safari river in St Elizabeth where the boats run daily past wild American crocodiles, and a body turned up in 2024. And at number one: above the Yallahs valley in St Thomas, a pale scar runs almost a thousand feet down the mountain. On the morning of June 7, 1692, the same earthquake that drowned Port Royal shook this hillside loose, and one of the largest landslides ever recorded in Jamaica buried a working plantation and the people on it. The survivors named it Judgement Cliff. No one will build on the ground it covered to this day. Subscribe for more of the Caribbean's buried, forbidden, and unexplained places.
