Hummingbirds Got Sick Moves! Just Look at them! Flying like a Bullet!
I don’t know if you know, but hummingbirds have some pretty cool moves in the sky.
And scientists have discovered something new. Hummingbirds, when going through tight spaces, have not one but two cool moves that we didn’t know before.
First up, there's the Bullet-Like Approach. They tuck their wings close to their bodies and zoom through small spaces really quickly, like a bullet. And then, there's the Sideways Maneuver. They don’t stop to flap their wings, and at the same time, they turn their bodies sideways, with one wing forward and the other backward.
Scientists used a special game using fake flowers and small openings to observe their flying style. They watched the hummingbirds play the game over and over again, and they saw that the hummingbirds liked to use both moves. But, as they played more and felt safe, they really loved the Bullet-Like Approach!
So, next time you spot a hummingbird, take some time to appreciate their cool moves!
