Behind Bars: Taichung Men's Prison, Taiwan | World’s Toughest Prisons | Free Documentary
Behind Bars Season 4 - Episode 3: Taichung Men´s Prison, Taiwan | 4K Prison Documentary Behind Bars: Philippines - New Bilibid Prison: https://youtu.be/HgaZTcJMHdc The Taichung Men´s Prison is the biggest and toughest prison in Taiwan. It houses four and a half thousand inmates. Among them some of the most dangerous criminals of the whole country. Over a hundred life sentences alone and more than a thousand prisoners are serving sentences of twenty years or more. Monotony, confinement and around the clock video surveillance everywhere dictate the lives of the inmates. Only one time a week the inmates are allowed to spend time on the yard. The prison works with what is known as progressive correctional treatment. This means that prisoners are divided into four levels. The better a prisoner behaves, the higher their level. And this determines, for example, how many packs of cigarettes a prisoner can buy and how often he is allowed to have visitors. The most important thing, however, is that the length of imprisonment is reduced with each level obtained. For most prisoners, this is a good reason to cause as little trouble as possible. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #BehindBars ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Red Zones: Philippines - The Dark Side of the Sea No-Go Zones - All Episodes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLgqOez346ZOkg0MWq5wZlztRH_sbzJu8 In the remote coastal communities of the Southern Philippines, illegal economies and practices are fueling environmental conflict and threatening one of the world’s most unique and endangered marine ecosystems. Porous sea borders and weak governance coupled with rising economic hardship are pushing more and more people into an underworld that is profiting from the riches of the sea. An extensive criminal network is exploiting vulnerable coastal communities through illegal activities such as the smuggling of endangered wildlife and subaquatic gold mining. However, on Palawan Island, former fishermen have created their own PARA Enforcers unit which sets out to patrol and confront illegal fishing crews which are a vital part of the supply chain for wildlife traffickers. Led by Efren Balladeres, the group which is staffed by volunteers risk their lives to catch fishers in the act. But with huge profits being generated from cross border wildlife smuggling, the work of Efren’s team is becoming increasingly dangerous. In southern Leyte, an environmental conflict left over from the country’s colonial legacy is destroying the coastline. Subaquatic gold mining is practised by most men of working age in the impoverished town of Pinut-an. Many of the divers who were once fishermen now mine gold on the seabed floor because there are no more fish left in the region. This underwater El Dorado poses many hazards. Miners risk death as they free dive to as deep as 60 feet to plunder boulders and rocks in underwater tunnel systems in search of the precious metal. Due to its archipelagic formation, the Philippines remains difficult for authorities to achieve complete surveillance over its far reaching southern provinces. In the remote region of Tawi Tawi, the final gateway before the sea border with Malaysia, the Marines and Maritime Police are struggling to close the smuggling and trafficking corridors that flow through the area to reach international waters. With unfiltered access, this film delves into the hidden corners of the sea in areas of the Philippines off the well trodden path of tourists and visitors. As competition for resources on land intensifies, more and more people are turning to the sea with exploits which are harder to police and trace. This film will offer audiences a rare glimpse into this last untamed frontier at a critical time when our seas are in the greatest need of protection. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #Philippines ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Behind Bars Season 4 - Episode 1: Manila City Jail | 4K Prison Documentary Behind Bars Season 4 - Episode 2: Lepoglava, Croatia: https://youtu.be/jB9WLm52wP0 New Bilibid Prison is the main prison in the Philippines. One part of this mega-prison complex is Camp Sampaguita - one of the toughest prisons in the world. Designed to hold one thousand five hundred offenders, currently, there are more than eight thousand incarcerated. That means up to ninety hardened criminals crammed into twenty-five square meter cells, half of them sleeping on the bare ground. Hygienic conditions are catastrophic. Despite to staffing problems, each wing is staffed by just two guards per shift. Two guards for more than two thousand prisoners. To keep things in check, they count the prisoners four times a day. Extremely strict rules apply throughout the prison. Anyone who violates them ends up in so-called Bartolina - isolation detention. The maximum stay is four weeks, with no upper limit. Every week, new inmates arrive, making the situation even worse. One of the new arrivals is thirty-five-year-old Rondell. He has been convicted of attempted murder – an unpremeditated act of jealousy. Rondell was living a normal life until two years ago. No gangs, no drugs. Then he got into a fight and almost killed a rival – a rash act that changed his life completely. He now shares a cell with dangerous criminals, gang members, thugs, and thieves. As the new guy, Rondell is at the bottom of the pecking order. He has to do the most unpleasant and strenuous tasks, like carrying one hundred liters of water every day and being on watch during the night. Meanwhile, Rondell's thoughts turn almost exclusively to his family and children, whom he hasn't seen in more than two years. It is uncertain when he will be able to hug them again. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #BehindBars ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Adepitan films with medics working in the desperately poor African country of Malawi. Against daunting odds, the medics organize and perform fifteen-minute operations allowing blind people to see. Some are elderly people who’ve lost their sight, and some are teenage children who’ve never seen before. 00:24:25 South Africa - Skin Bleaching Scandal Tania Hussein is in South Africa investigating the increasing use of skin-whitening creams by young women. An important factor is what’s happening in the country’s music industry. 00:48:21 Sierra Leone - Africa's Perfect Storm On August 14, 2017 up to 1,000 people died when torrential rains triggered a landslide that engulfed homes in Regent, a mountainous town on the outskirts of Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown. Amid startling scenes of devastation, Seyi Rhodes investigates and uncovers how the constant floods that afflict the city aren’t caused by climate change but by overpopulation, poverty, and incompetence. It’s a disaster with implications for many fast-growing cities. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #UnreportedWorld ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing you high-class documentaries on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. The landscapes through which these routes wind are unique and exert their never-ending fascination even on regular travelers. 00:42:34 Highway to the Arctic Every winter, ice roads are built across hundreds of miles in Canada's far north, connecting frozen rivers and lakes, and stretching up to the very northern tip of the country by the Arctic Ocean. For the people living in the remote villages of this region these “ice highways” are of vital importance. Until April, trucks are coming up here all the way from down south, bringing supply goods for the whole year to these locals, and life changes until the ice roads are melting again and disappearing into the ocean. 01:25:11 The Canadian Ice Roads The Canadian ice roads exist only for a few months in the winter when the ice is thick enough. The only time of the year when goods can be transported up to Northern Manitoba. We accompany the truckers Vlad and Hugh as well as the aboriginal Canadian Scott with his pick-up on their long journey to a village called God’s Lake. A risky trip in icy temperatures, sometimes even below - 60 degrees Celcius. 02:02:44 The Adriatic Highway The “Adriatic Highway” is one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world. The “technical masterwork” was built in the 1950s and 60s, at the time of Yugoslavian President Tito. Abounding in curves, the asphalt road stretches from Ankaran in Slovenia to Ulcinj in Montenegro. More than half of the road is in Croatia (659 km) and a quarter in Montenegro (125 km). Shorter segments lead through Slovenia; only nine kilometers are in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For all four countries of the former Yugoslavian Federation, the 1,200-kilometer-long highway remains the main thoroughfare of Adriatic tourism. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios.
