ABBANDONED for over 100 years, The HALL HEAD ESTATE Mansions. (Amazing Journeys Vlogumentary) #jamaica #stthomas #history full video https://youtu.be/6xeBdfxQHp4 Today’s journey took us up into the hills of Danvers pen in  the parish of St Thomas…we were on a search for the hall head estate, an old colonial estate and former plantation. The hall head estate was one of the largest slave plantations in Jamaica.  As it turned out, this journey was not what I expected…as with these  types of adventures, there’s always room for something to go terribly wrong, or I could make the discovery of a lifetime…. While my goal is finding and exploring our abandoned /historical places of interest  and bringing our forgotten, ignored or unknown history to the public, I take extra precautions during exploring, endeavoring always, to leave everything as we find them.  {So while exploring these places might look appealing to most, my advice is, make sure you are mentally and physically prepared for the unknown before you get started.} Thank you for your support https://www.paypal.me/elitejamm https://www.patreon.com/Elitejamaica Gofundme: https://www.gofund.me/1fa30811 Contact:1 876-450-9733 Thanks for watching. FACTS about PORTLAND you probably did not know. (History of Portland, Jamaica)
FACTS about PORTLAND you probably did not know. (History of Portland, Jamaica) #portland #jamaica #portantonio The parish of Portland can be found at the north-eastern tip of Jamaica…it is situated to the north of St. Thomas and to the east of St. Mary. Portland is approximately 814 square kilometres in size. The parish is rugged, steep, and densely forested with stunning fortress-like mountains, that merges into the Blue Mountains, Jamaica highest mountain range. What we know today is that the parish of Portland came about long ago, from the amalgamation of two parishes…namely, the parishes of St. George and St. Thomas. The original parish of Portland was created in 1723, by order of the then Governor, Duke of Portland. Hence the parish was named in his honour. FACTS about Downtown Kingston, you probably did not know (Lost Information)
Unknown history of Kingston, Jamaica (Lost Information) #jamaica #kingston #history Thank you for your support https://www.paypal.me/elitejamm https://www.patreon.com/Elitejamaica The parish of Kingston came into being in June of 1692, after a major earthquake devastated the then grand town of Port Royal.  At that time, Port Royal was a fortified naval base with perhaps as many as 2000 residential homes, in addition to law courts, two prisons, churches and all the necessary creature-comfort, that would normally be found in a town designed to live life to the fullest. The total devastation of this major city in Jamaica, necessitated immediate action on the part of the then Government of Jamaica. The rehabilitation and rehousing of survivors of the earthquake was an urgent requirement.  So, in 1692, the Governor of Jamaica acquired 200 acres of land known then as “Colonel Barry’s Hog Crawle,” for the princely sum of £4000….. The sale transaction was handled by a Kingston Attorney, by the name of Nicholas Lawes, on behalf of Mr William Beeston owner of the land. Mr Beeston had apparently and fortuitously acquired the property previously… from Colonel Samuel Barry. (Hence Barry, Lawes and Beeston Streets) Thanks for watching -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Top Budget-friendly Caribbean Nations Offering Citizenship For Sale!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O9FNFo-qmM -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

FACTS about Kingston you probably did not know. (History of Kingston, Jamaica)
FACTS about Kingston you probably did not know. (History of Kingston, Jamaica) History of Kingston & St. Andrew Kingston Early Beginnings The parish of Kingston is the capital of Jamaica and it is located on the south-eastern end of the island. Until 1692, the parish of Kingston did not exist. Kingston came into existence in 1692 after a massive earthquake and it’s subsequent after effects, destroyed two thirds of Port Royal and killed about three thousand inhabitants. Survivors of the earthquake fled to the Liguanea Plains only to perish from exposure and disease. As a result, two weeks after Port Royal’s destruction, the government purchased two hundred acres of land known as “Colonel Barry’s Hog Crawle,” at a cost of £1000. Up on until the sale, the land was owned by Sir William Beeston who was absent from the island at the time, therefore his attorney Nicholas Lawes, conducted the sale on Beeston behalf. #kingston #jamaica #parishes Thank you for your support https://www.paypal.me/elitejamm https://www.patreon.com/Elitejamaica Gofundme: https://www.gofund.me/1fa30811 Contact:1 876-450-9733 Thanks for watching. Facts about PORTMORE You probably did not know (History of Portmore)
Facts about PORTMORE You probably did not know. History of Portmore St Catherine #portmore #stcatherine #jamaica Located approximately 24 kilometres from Jamaica’s capital city, and situated on the south eastern coast of St. Catherine, is the largest urban community. This urban settlement is known as Portmore and is the second largest after the capital of Spanish Town. Portmore can be divided into two divisions, the plains to the north and the limestone hills of Hellshire to the south. Today, Portmore makes up the Municipality of Portmore from Passage Fort Drive to the north, to as far south as Port Henderson Road. Portmore is one step closer to becoming Jamaica’s 15th parish. Its capital will be Portmore, which was the same model used to determine the capital for Kingston. The dormitory community is expected to become the first to be granted parish status in Jamaica in 155 years, the last time being in 1867 when St Thomas was named a parish, absorbing the bulk of the historic parish of St David at the time The history of Portmore is one that encompasses a rich and compelling past…A past that can be traced through different groups of people, localities and time…all of which, has made a significant impact on the area that is Portmore today.
