Deadly Disasters: Volcanoes Deadly Disasters - Tsunamis: https://youtu.be/o5qMfqcSkdQ Human history is littered with stories of gigantic volcanic eruptions and the tragic fates of those who could not outrun the burning lava and poisonous gases. In our own times, volcanoes continue to cause large-scale destruction. Volcanoes are put into three categories: extinct, dormant, and active. But in this episode we show how even unexpected eruptions can happen, and when they do, they are both spectacular and terrifying. Sinabung in Indonesia erupted in 2010 after 400 years of dormancy causing chaos to thousands. We take a look at one of the most active volcanoes in Europe: the fiery giant Mount Etna. And then, how Nyiragongo in the Democratic Republic of Congo desolated a village. We explore what draws flocks of tourists to nature’s deadly infernos, and whether they can ever truly be safe. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #volcano ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Deadly Disasters: Avalanches Deadly Disasters - Volcanoes: https://youtu.be/BFIpgXWzsWI We tend to think of disasters as inevitable - but often Mother Nature gives us vital clues which we foolishly ignore or overlook. This episode will take a close look at avalanches and what we can learn about how, where, and why they strike. Catastrophic avalanches occur when huge slabs of snow break away from a mountain slope and roar downhill. These moving masses of snow and ice can reach speeds of more than 130 kilometres per hour within a matter of seconds. Any victims caught in such horrific events are hurled down the mountainside and buried alive. Most do not survive. In this episode, we’ll look at two of the most terrifying avalanches in recent history; The Mount Everest Avalanches of 2015, which killed an estimated twenty-five climbers on the mountain, as well as bringing damage and injury to roughly 360 people at the base camp below. We then explore the deadly avalanches that have happened across the Alps through history, in particular, during the famous ‘Winter of Terror’ that took 265 lives in the 1950s. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #avalanche ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Raging Waters: The Devastating Power of Floods | Deadly Disasters | Free Documentary
Deadly Disasters: Floods Deadly Disasters - Avalanches: https://youtu.be/0uan3Fk2KVI Even when below your knees, you can still be swept off your feet by the torrent of water. And the danger doesn’t stop there: electric shocks, contaminated water and washed away vehicles are perilous. Killing more people, a year than hurricanes, tornadoes and lightning, floods are one of the most feared disasters with the most traumatic effects. In 2011, over 2000 people lost their lives due to floods that were a result of a brutal monsoon season in Southeast Asia. India, Bangladesh and Nepal were struck in 2017, leaving 1,200 dead and millions homeless. International aid cut-off, evacuation hindered, and thousands of hectares of farmland washed away; these floods were truly devastating, the repercussions of which will be felt for years to come. Meanwhile in Houston, Texas, 9 trillion gallons of water fell from the sky in just two days. Its freeways are designed to act as rivers during flooding, so evacuating residents from a city run by cars would doom them to death by water. The impact of this catastrophe proves no matter how sophisticated the infrastructure, nowhere is truly safe from the unrelenting threat of floods. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #floods ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by well-known filmmakers working for famous production studios. Starting from the night of the explosion, our story dates back to that day - April 26th, 1986. By driving through the ruined areas, we sought to comprehend what happened that day and the following years. Still full of signs of that day were the leisure areas, hospitals and anandoned homes. Earthquakes: World's Most Terrifying Forces | Deadly Disasters | Free Documentary
Deadly Disasters: Earthquakes Deadly Disasters - Floods: https://youtu.be/BMi6Af0TRbM Deadly, highly destructive and impossible to predict the Earthquake is perhaps one of Mother Nature's most terrifying forces. In 2011 the earthquake that struck New Zealand’s South Island became the nation’s fifth-deadliest disaster. Thousands were forced to leave their homes and neighbourhoods were turned into ghost towns. Halfway around the world, in Italy, a country precariously perched on the border between the Eurasian and African Plates, we recall the events of the shocking 2009 L’Aquila earthquake. It reduced a beautiful 13th century city to rubble, killed more than 300 people, and its thousands of aftershocks frayed public and political nerves. Update: In February 2025, the reconstruction was at 78% in L'Aquila city and 88% in terms of construction projects. Going even further back in history, we look at the 1994 earthquake that rocked Los Angeles in the early hours of the morning. Killing 57, injuring thousands more and destroying 112,000 structures, it was little consolation that had the quake hit on a workday the death toll would have been much higher. They flatten entire cities, create mass homelessness, and take thousands of lives. Earthquakes are truly deadly disasters. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to Free Documentary Channel for free: https://bit.ly/2YJ4XzQ Instagram: https://instagram.com/free.documentary/ Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Twitter: https://bit.ly/2QlwRiI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #earthquake ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-quality documentaries to you on YouTube for free with the latest camera equipment used by renowned filmmakers working for renowned production studios. Deadly Disasters: El Niño Deadly Disasters - Earthquakes: https://youtu.be/t1b9MpGUcs8 It is estimated that between 1997 and 1998, “El Niño” took the lives of 24,000 people and created a startling $34 billion (US) in economic damages worldwide. In this documentary we explain what “El Niño” is and investigate why and how the weather pattern has caused some of the deadliest disasters of our times. El Niño is a complex weather phenomenon that occurs irregularly every two to seven years. In this episode, we’ll focus on two deadly disease events caused by mosquitoes: The 2015-2016 Zika Virus outbreak, which began in Brazil and spread to parts of North and South America, and a 2018 outbreak of malaria throughout parts of Thailand and Myanmar which has become especially difficult to treat, as the virus becomes resistant to the drugs used to treat it. But does this really only depend on the potato, or does the production process play an equally important role? We compare the handmade fries of a chip shop with the mass production of a factory. (chips = fries. The Brits say chips for fries and crisps for chips. ;) 15:06 Inside Europe's Largest Fish Finger Factory Tons of fish fingers are produced every year because this frozen food is clearly one of the most popular fish dishes not only in Germany.
