Why Data Centers Are Creating a Blue-Collar Gold Rush
The explosion of AI investment is triggering a nationwide data center building boom — and an urgent need for skilled construction workers. Electricians, HVAC specialists and welders are in record demand as companies race to build faster and at massive scale. But retirements, demographic shifts and decades of stagnant productivity in construction are straining the labor pipeline. Higher wages, bonuses, trade school enrollment and prefabrication technology are helping — but the question remains: can the workforce keep up with AI’s rapid expansion? -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video? Cats that are on their own outside clearly hunt wildlife, but how often and what kinds? National Geographic's Crittercam team and researchers from the University of Georgia recently attached camera collars to feral cats on Jekyll Island, Georgia, to record their actions throughout the day. Motion sensors turned the cameras on, and they documented the cats grooming themselves, stalking prey, and just roaming around. Surprisingly, the scientists found that the cats on Jekyll Island preyed on birds less than they'd expected—and more on small mammals, insects, and lizards. ➡ Subscribe: https://on.natgeo.com/4p5A0D6 About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for critically acclaimed storytelling around science and exploration. How Zyn is Taking Over the Cigarette Industry
For more than a century, tobacco has been one of the world’s most heavily regulated industries and with each wave of regulation, it has reinvented itself. Now Philip Morris International is accelerating a shift away from combustible cigarettes toward smoke-free products like IQOS and Zyn, arguing that eliminating combustion dramatically reduces harm. The company says cigarettes should eventually disappear altogether. But as nicotine pouches and heated tobacco products gain popularity, public health experts warn that long-term effects remain uncertain and addiction risks persist, raising new questions about whether this is transformation or reinvention. -------- More on Bloomberg Television and Markets Like this video?
