Yet Zanskar is getting ready to open its doors to the world and may undergo some major upheavals much earlier than planned! Because one man alone, has also decided to built a road. This man is neither an engineer, nor a millionaire, and even less a visionary! His name is Tsultrim Chonjor, he’s 78 years old and he’s a Buddhist monk! Tsultrim has been using a bulldozer to dig through the mountain for two years. Nothing seems to be able to stop this very atypical monk, who’s about to cross the Shingo La Pass, over 5 000 metres above sea level. This harsh Arctic wilderness is also home to the nomadic Nenets people. Ghana has requested the extradition of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from the US over corruption charges. The 66-year-old was declared a fugitive this year after failing to attend interviews in relation to his case — he stands accused of causing financial losses while he was in government. Interpol issued a red notice, alerting law enforcement agencies to locate and detain Ofori-Atta, soon after. He has denied any wrongdoing.
