The Brooklyn Tabernacle

God has brought the Brooklyn Tabernacle from a handful of members in a small rundown building in a difficult area to a congregation of more than ten thousand weekly attendees. Pastor Cymbala and his wife, Carol, who directs the popular Grammy Award–winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, have been used by the Lord not only to preach the gospel in the inner city of New York but also to see new churches grow out of the congregation across New York as well as domestically and internationally. The ministry of the church has from the outset reached out to the cross-cultural melting pot of New York City. It is comprised of men, women, and children of all ethnic and national origins. Central to the growth and expansion of the church, however, has been the continual emphasis on prayer, from the Tuesday night prayer meeting that is attended by thousands to the prayer band, made up of members of the church devoted to boldly calling on the Lord for needs from around the world.

Daily Devotional | Wisdom from Fear | Psalm 111 | Pastor Jim Cymbala
Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 111. In this devotional we are reminded that wisdom has a different meaning to Christians than to the unsaved world. A multi-millionaire may appear to have wisdom since he’s so successful, but he could be taking actions that God disapproves of. That makes the rich man quite unwise! We Christians must have the fear, or deep respect, of the Lord in order to be wise. Let’s pray for wisdom today. Don’t miss a single daily devotional with Pastor Cymbala! He's Calling Your Name | Pastor Jim Cymbala | Sunday Service | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
God, the Creator of the universe, knows us each by name. He loves us more than anything in the world! The apostle Paul saw God's love firsthand when Jesus called him by name and radically changed his life. Another man, Ananias, was also called by name to do something great for God. The Lord calls us all to something. Let’s be available to Him. We can rest in the knowledge that all things work together for good, even if we can’t see it now. Don’t miss a single daily devotional with Pastor Cymbala! What a curse grumbling is! The Lord has given us more than we could ever need, yet we still find ways to complain. But God is with us, and He has a purpose for our circumstances. We should give Him thanks in the hard times as well as the good—the Bible tells us to be thankful for everything! Let’s pray for spirits of thankfulness today. May we never forget God’s goodness. Behold Him! | Pastor Brian Pettrey | Tuesday Prayer Meeting | The Brooklyn Tabernacle
Jesus told us that we would do even greater works than He did—but what does that mean? We often aren’t even bold enough to share our faith or overcome sins in our daily lives! But it's not up to us to convert people or produce spiritual fruit on our own! If we just get in the presence of God and behold His holiness, He will fill us with the power of the Holy Spirit. We’ll be so full of awe that we can’t keep God's love to ourselves! Let’s behold the Lord's goodness today and watch what happens.
